Re: Bad Connection

I received it and replied to it this morning. I'd recommend emailing me using an email address that you can access in POP Peeper. I assume you can access that email one way or another, but here's a copy of what I wrote in my email so you can provide the necessary info (via email; since this is a spe...

Re: Background color

The blue background represents the junk status is unknown (ie. not junk, not legit). More info: https://www.esumsoft.com/pop-peeper/reference/help-upgrading-v4/#msglistcolors side-note: v6 will consolidate the various background color options into one place, as well as adding new color options (e.g....

Since you've already rebooted, I just have one other idea: If you're using a 3rd party firewall, make sure that it's not blocking POP Peeper If you still have a problem, contact me (support at esumsoft dot com), and let me know if *all* accounts are a problem or just your personal-domain accounts (o...

Re: Cannot connect to SMTP server

This is a typical error for personal domains that are on a shared/VPS hosting service. You have a few choices: 1) Update the server with the one that your host recommends. e.g. if your provider is webhost.com, then it's usually mail.webhost.com, but you should check with your provider's documentatio...

Re: Oauth2 for POP - Outlook

I'll be looking at it this weekend. When I previously added POP3 support for Gmail and Yahoo/AOL, Outlook didn't want to play well with it, but I've found the technical documentation for Outlook and I do see the significant difference so it should be viable this time.

Re: Cannot connect to SMTP server

I see a few issues: 1) you have 'mail.mail.marjaswebsandbox.nl' -- an extra 'mail.', try instead: mail.marjaswebsandbox.nl 2) You're not using any SSL on port 995. Try changing to "SSL/TLS". 3) On the "Send Mail" page, you have SSL on port 587, which is also usually not correct, ...

Outlook will require Oauth2 (modern authentication)

As of September 16, 2024, Outlook/Hotmail accounts will require you to use Oauth2, which they refer to as "modern authentication." This replaces the login method that sends your password and is more secure. It is recommended that you switch to Oauth2 before the deadline so that you don't h...

Re: continues to blacklist wanted email

The method that usually works is to simply mark the message as "Legit" -- this will whitelist the sender and also improve learning (and move the message out of Junk View back into the inbox). If you've already done this, then there are various other things you can do, but let's see what sp...

Re: AOL and Yahoo suddenly get "consistent errors"

I was doing a little digging and ended up on this page: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html The page itself isn't particularly significant, but there is a banner at the top of the page: YahooIssues20240617.png "We are aware of issues some users are having with logging into Yahoo accounts an...

Try exiting and restarting Aeris Calendar and see if that fixes it. If you still have a problem, please contact me via email (support at esumsoft dot com). It's possible that my report to Avast was processed quickly. I did not receive any response (and not sure if I was supposed to expect one). But glad that it's working now and thanks for letting me know.

Re: AVAST reporting pop peeper as a threat

Assuming you downloaded the file from esumsoft.com, it's a False Positive. 1) VirusTotal.com doesn't report any problems, including from Avast: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/35d023aae66171ed01df0bc52b391a18c06a78be984d5ec3ea24e779d357539d?nocache=1 2) Using Windows Sandbox, I downloaded Avast ...

Re: Account list scroller stop working after last update.

It looks like both your account and message lists boundaries are extending farther down than they're supposed to; you should see a border on both and then there's a visible gap between that bottom border and the status bar. I'm not able to duplicate this behavior, however. If you exit and restart PO...
