Since the last update to 4.2.0.0 I have noticed emails coming into my Yahoo account with only my friends First name and a blank To: field.
The results are when I do a reply, I get a check address window, which I never did before with this person.
When I look in yahoo online I see Jim<hisemailaddress@domain.com> in the From: field.
And I see my Last Name, First Name in the To: field.
Blank To: and missing address in From:
Re: Blank To: and missing address in From:
Okay, I can confirm that some of my Yahoo accounts have messages that do indeed display a blank "To:" field.
It appears to me that if the webmail protocol is used (that is the "Server type" is set to "Yahoo") then this phenomena will occur regarding a blank "To:" field, but if either the IMAP or POP3 protocols are used then the "To:" field will not be blank (presumably POP3 as well since it should be the same as IMAP although I only tested for IMAP).
Can you please verify that in your case these Yahoo accounts with blank "To:" fields are using the "Webmail" (Yahoo) "Server type" protocol? (can be checked by doing a RIGHT-click on the account in the left account list pane of the main PP interface and selecting "Edit account..." and looking to see what the "Server type" option is set at).
If as I suspect you are using the "Webmail" protocol, that is the "Server type" is set to "Yahoo" then it would appear that if you were to change to IMAP for your "Server type" setting this will resolve the issue regarding the blank "To:" fields.
As to doing a reply, I have no problem with this for these accounts with the blank "To:" field. I'm not exactly sure what it is you mean by quote: "... when I do a reply, I get a check address window..." and not sure about the reference to "missing address in From:" in the topic title, can you please elaborate on this
Sometime later on Jeff will be able to look into why the Yahoo accounts appear to be displaying a blank "To:" field which may require an update to the Webmail plugin, but until then if you want to avoid the issue for now all you should need to do is change the accounts that have this problem to the IMAP protocol (all other required settings will be done for you automatically, all you would need to do is change "Yahoo" to "IMAP" in the "Server type" setting. Be aware that the FIRST Mail Check will be slower while the PP inbox gets repopulated with messages using the different protocol for this account)

Re: Blank To: and missing address in From:
Thanks for verifying....
Server Type: Yahoo
Send Mail: WebMail
Pictures are included to elaborate on the Check Address window. It only allowed 3 pictures, so the 4th would show the header from Yahoo and the return path of a complete email address.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you need more.

jdbliss, In order to assure privacy I have edited your post to redact the account field email address.
FYI - A new Webmail plugin release will be forthcoming soon to fix the missing "To:" issue involving Yahoo email messages using Webmail protocol. This will possibly also address the "Check address" issue at the same time.

The update has been posted -- WebMail v4.2.1. To update immediately, go to Help / About and press the "Check Version" button; you may need to restart POP Peeper for the update to take effect.
