Good day
I'm a long time customer of PP (running 4.2 presently) but I'm having a big issue with an Outlook account now.
It appeared just after that I've upgraded my OS from W7 to W10.
This problem is related to my hotmail.fr account. My others Hotmail.com accounts are working flawlessly.
The issue is that the IMAP account type that I have set for this account (like for all others .com accounts) do not stay memorized in PP and goes back to "POP3" when I reboot my computer or disconnect.
What I have tried:
In Outlook.com: Deactivated the POP3 connection possibility but, as a result, it generates the following alert in PP:
"Login error (this account POP disabled.Go to Outlook to enable POP"
In PP I have deleted the account and re-created it but the IMAP protocol in Server type always goes back to POP3. Very annoying...
I have no cookies available for this account.
If you have any solutions I would be very grateful.

Re: IMAP option in PP setting/ W10
Welcome to the forum ademar,
Until Jeff can get by the forum to review your topic I have a couple of questions.
For this specific Hotmail.fr account that changes from "IMAP" to "POP3" when you disconnect (.com as I understand does not have this problem):
1) After POP Peeper changes the account from "IMAP" to "POP3" after disconnecting, what is the "Incoming Server" setting (just below "Server type") set at?
2) When you change the "Server type" in POP Peeper back to "IMAP" what does the "Incoming Server" setting automatically change to?

Re: IMAP option in PP setting/ W10
It sounds like your ini file is write-protected. Let us know the following:
from the main menu, select Tools / Options
Select the "storage" page
Select, copy and paste the result for "Ini location"
- IF it's listed (and I suspect it won't be) and you don't anyone to know your username, you can replace it with whatever
While you're at it, provide us your "Data path" as well

Than you both for paying attention to my problem and sorry for the late reply.
@lakrsrool
At the initial boot, in POP3 Server type, the incoming Server is: pop3.live.com
When I change to Imap: imap-mail.outlook.com
also...
when I switch back again to POP3 Server type, the Incoming server self-changes to "pop-mail-outlook.com"
@Jeff
Storage location is : C:\Program Files (x86)\POP Peeper\poppeeper.ini
The Data path is : C:\Program Files (x86)\POP Peeper\data
I have a data-v3 folder also...

Re: IMAP option in PP setting/ W10
The problem is apparently because of UAC since your path uses "Program Files" as referenced by Jeff in that "it sounds like your ini file is write-protected".
The best way to fix this is do the following:
1) Exit POP Peeper
2) Move the ini file from: C:\Program Files (x86)\POP Peeper\poppeeper.ini to: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\POP Peeper (note: you must manually move the poppeeper.ini file yourself using File Explorer)
-----> To do this do the following:
-----> A) Copy the line above (in red) and enter it into the Windows "Run prompt" (from "All apps" > "Windows system" > "Run") to open the correct folder in File Explorer
-----> B) Note: The "POP Peeper" folder may not exist, in which case, you should open the parent folder (%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\), and create "POP Peeper"; now move (drag) the ini file (poppeeper) from where it is now to this new location (not copy)
3) Restart POP Peeper
4) Go to "Tools" > "Options" > "Storage" to make sure the "ini location" is now "C:\users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\POP Peeper\poppeeper.ini"
5) Also, while you're at this point, make sure you reset the value in the data path, that is delete the value for the data path so the value is empty and press OK (this will reset it to the AppData folder)

Re: IMAP option in PP setting/ W10
Thank You!
I did exactly what you have recommended and everything is running fine now.
The PP folder did not exist in the %userprofile% so I created it and moved the .ini there.
The "ini location" was then correct in PP storage.
To delete the value in the "data path", PP asked me to disable the "polling interval" (ie set to 0) in Options-->Mail Check.
After removing the Data path, PP moved all my accounts in the right place (with the UAC requesting Admin Rights -I am-).
Now everything is back to normal!
As a sideline, I had a problem with the various windows position being not memorized. Everything is back to normal also!
Thank you again to both of you!

Re: IMAP option in PP setting/ W10
Your welcome, happy to hear everything is okay now.
The "various windows position" not holding problem you mentioned was also related to the UAC Windows write-protection and is therefore solved as well by changing the .ini path.
