Re: Not downloading all emails from gmail server
It's the way that Gmail is designed to work with POP3. The option, "Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)" is misleading because it will only work that way when you first set it; after messages have been downloaded (by any POP3 client), they'll be hidden from P...

Re: How To Get Your Gmail Account To Continue Using Oauth2
Yeah, I'll admit -- I'm not sure what's going on with the whole thing; Oauth2 for Gmail continues to work. I'm thinking of releasing yet another update that re-instates it without needing to use the F8-backdoor, and just rely on the necessary link in the error log (like it already does) for when it ...

Re: connection failed
ProtonMail requires you to use their Proton Mail Bridge. Access to it requires one of their paid subscription plans.
FYI: 127.0.0.1 is always your local computer. So, in this case, POP Peeper will be connecting to the proton bridge app on your computer and not directly to the server.

Gmail/Oauth -- what to do
With Gmail shutting down Oauth2 for POP Peeper (as first announced here ), here is a list of your available options to continue accessing your gmail accounts: 1) As of this writing (April 30), Gmail accounts continue to work with POP Peeper's Oauth2. If you need to reset your Oauth2 credentials, the...

Re: PP 5.6 and Google's new OATH2 Changes
I tried logging into the account with a browser I rarely use and a private window -- no notification. So then I took your advice and tried another computer (very rarely used, I'd be surprised if I've ever logged into this particular account on this computer, let alone the dev console) -- no notifica...

Re: PP 5.6 and Google's new OATH2 Changes
I haven't seen that message in the account I'm using for testing purposes; and 2SV is not enabled. But the account is tied to my phone -- which I thought could possibly be a reason -- so I accessed the dev console with another account that has virtually nothing attached to it, and still don't see it...

Re: How To Change Gmail Account From Oauth2 To An App Password
Sorry, but it won't work. If POP Peeper is already connected to your gmail account when you disable 2FA, it will continue to work for a while because POP Peeper doesn't necessarily have to login every time it checks mail (feature of Imap/Idle). But once PP has to login again, the login will fail. To...

Re: PP 5.6 and Google's new OATH2 Changes
I think I noticed that too -- click "save" again and the window show go away and then it will be added. [edit] yeah -- if you type the email address and then press "save" it only "validates" the email address you typed (so you could type another address if you wanted to...

This error is specifically mentioned in the guide (at the very bottom) -- it means you haven't added the email address to the "Test users" (steps 21-23)

Re: Oauth2 error Reset Oauth2 on MS accounts
To clarify, it's not a "3rd party" app password; the app passwords are provided by Microsoft themselves. There's a link to creating the app-password in the link I provided earlier; but the link provides a lot more contextual information. Here's the same link: https://support.microsoft.com/...

Re: Why removing Gmail's OAuth2 support instead of just being unverified?
Oauth hasn't been completely removed -- that's why the Oauth2 credentials will continue to work (this was kind of a pain to implement, but I didn't want people regretting that they updated). But I also didn't want people enabling Oauth2 just to have it stop working (next week). I had asked Google te...

Re: PP 5.6 and Google's new OATH2 Changes
Thought I would include the following information here as this has been the main Google/Oauth2 thread and I'd like to get anyone's opinion in case you're interested. When I first wrote the guidebook , I tested each of the 2FA methods individually. I noticed that the PassKey method didn't allow you t...

Re: Oauth2 error Reset Oauth2 on MS accounts
I can't 100% confirm the every 3 months for MS accounts, but it sounds right. The reason it's hard for me to confirm that is (a) I'm always testing accounts so I can't remember when I last did it for a particular account in a particular configuration and (b) having to re-oauth isn't a memorable expe...

Download: https://www.esumsoft.com/download/ POP Peeper v5.6.1 is a minor release for one specific update ( full list of changes ).
