ProtonMail requires you to use their Proton Mail Bridge. Access to it requires one of their paid subscription plans.

FYI: 127.0.0.1 is always your local computer. So, in this case, POP Peeper will be connecting to the proton bridge app on your computer and not directly to the server.

This error is specifically mentioned in the guide (at the very bottom) -- it means you haven't added the email address to the "Test users" (steps 21-23)
