Re: Password Protected Mailboxes No Longer Open After Updating Encryption
Ok, if you don't have access to the password anymore, there are a couple solutions. The quick and dirty solution is to delete the database file. Obviously you'll lose all your messages, but they will be re-synced on the next mail check. Certain things will be lost, such as user-flags, replied-to sta...

Re: Password Protected Mailboxes No Longer Open After Updating Encryption
Thanks for reporting this, it is a bug in v5.5. When you start POP Peeper, you will see a prompt like this: PP_AccountSecurity_v55.png Notice on the bottom that it says: "The account is now password protected with the login password" You should try to edit the account and when prompted for...

Re: 5.5 not playing nicely with Norton
I may have a new theory -- when you save the attachment(s), I assume you have the option enabled to "open folder after save"? Could you try disabling that option when you save and see if Norton still has an issue? And for another related experiment (assuming that the above does *not* cause...

Re: 5.5 not playing nicely with Norton
yeah, these files have nothing to do with PP -- they're crash reports saved by Windows. The advantage of you zipping that file up, though, is that it allowed me to see the timestamp of when that particular crash occurred -- 12:44p, which just happens to be the same timestamp in your first screenshot...

Re: 5.5 not playing nicely with Norton
Norton's "Data protector" seems to be wreaking havoc in this version for some reason. I've had several reports from people not even being able to install this version -- Did you install v5.5 via auto-update (which would explain why you may have avoided that issue)? I don't suppose that the...

Re: One of my 2 Hotmail accounts not collecting emails
Interesting. Glad you found the problem and thanks for letting us know. It's been a while since I last used ZoneAlarm, but perhaps you can create rules to make it work, e.g. whitelisting POP Peeper (poppeeper.exe). Or force-allow connections on port 993.

Re: French Translation
POP Peeper is in a state of transition right now (for v6), so I can't update PPLC. But, if you want to translate these values (which I'm pretty sure were added after the last PPLC), here's what you can do: 1) Edit your plf file with a text editor 2) Search for: {MENU} 3) Below that, include your tra...

POP Peeper v5.5
It is important to note that data saved with v5.5 is not backward-compatible with previous versions, including v5.4 . This means that once you install v5.5, it's not recommended that you go back to a previous version unless you also restore from a backup from the previous version (specifically: popp...

Re: OAuth2 GMail error
Just to confirm -- did you try rebooting your computer? This may clear out the range of ports that PP tries to use for this. What I would recommend at this point is that you use an app-password; this won't affect your ability to use Oauth on another computer. Here are the instructions: https://suppo...

Re: OAuth2 GMail error
Are you running any other kind of security programs? I'd say something more along the lines of a software firewall? (a hardware firewall wouldn't be relevant). Windows firewall shouldn't be a problem unless you've made custom modifications. Otherwise, try rebooting your computer.

Re: OAuth2 GMail error
I know it can be confusing, but each service has their own restrictions on which methods are supported that aren't currently baked into PP's logic. So, to narrow it down in your case: - Gmail *only* supports the "web browser" method ("code" and "embedded" will not work)...

Re: [Request] Change color if marked for delete
I wrote some quick code and it's definitely do-able (just missing the user-defined color), so this will likely be added in v6.

Re: Separate button to delete emails from the server.
By default, the delete button marks the message for delete and will be deleted on the next mail check. I've been thinking about your suggestion, and I'm not sure that it adds much value as far as POP Peeper is concerned. It would actually take quite a bit of reworking to support it properly (ie. the...

Re: User Flag Server Sync
Just a quick update on this -- barring some unforeseen incident, this should make it into v6.0. Replied/Forward, flag (important) and other user flags should work dependent upon the supported features of the server.

Re: Separate button to delete emails from the server.
teksik -- If I understand correctly, you want to be able to check mail without deleting any messages that have already been marked for delete. Is that correct?
That's fundamentally how POP Peeper has always worked. Can you provide a scenario where this would be used?
