Re: Missing Spaces

In case it matters, my newsletters come via Hotmail (AKA Outlook). So these HTML files are not originally POP3 email -- they are always seen as webmail in PP. Okay, I'll send you 2 files. One files came from POPpeeper and has the prefix "PP" and is the TXT file I made by "Select All&q...

Re: Missing Spaces

Sorry, I was not trying to imply disbelief on your part, just that I already posted actual samples of the problem. Regardless, I would be happy to do as you requested.... except for one slight impediment. This email is a paid newsletter and they don't allow general distribution. So to abide by their...

Re: Missing Spaces

You'll need to send me a sample email that exhibits the problem (view the message; menu: File / Save message as). Also include a text file that contains what happened when you copy/pasted so that I can compare it. Send these 2 files via email (support at esumsoft dot com). I will send the samples y...

Re: Missing Spaces

I would guess that there's something in the HTML that the sender is using which *looks* like a space in HTML, but is some other character outside of ascii (ie. not a true "space"). If you have a text editor that shows hex values, that will probably show you what it's doing. I use Notepad+...

Missing Spaces

An odd problem seems to have developed with POPpeeper (PP). This began several weeks ago (maybe longer). For many years I have been using PP to view a weekly newsletter. I read the file in HTML mode (it's a trusted source), then I save the email body by using "Select All", "Copy"...

New Yahoo Mail

I keep getting nudges from Yahoo to upgrade to their "new Yahoo mail". All they say about it is that it encompasses many email services -- something I really do not need. Does anyone know if there are any other reasons to do this upgrade? And if I do, will POPpeerer still work with Yahoo a...

Re: Yahoo's New Version

I am already set to IMAP, so the next time Yahoo offers an interface change, I'll try it and see what happens. Thanks.

Yahoo's New Version

Yahoo keeps sending me emails urging me to change to their "new version". I'm not sure what this entails, but they claim it is safer (I have no clue in what sense they mean this). My question is whether I should make this change, or will it cause POPPeeper to stop working with Yahoo email?...

Re: Outlook / Hotmail Setup for Sending

Boy, you sure nailed it. I kept looking and looking at my settings, but for some reason I always "saw" SSL/TLS as STARTTLS. And I had already checked the Outlook/Hotmail website (several times, actually) and knew that STARTTLS was the correct setting! So now I feel like a real goof. Regard...

Re: Outlook / Hotmail Setup for Sending

I tried adding the certificate exception as suggested -- this did not help. Then I noticed that adding the the POP server line seemed wrong, so I went back and modified this to be a certificate exception for the SMTP server. I'm sorry to say that this did not work either. I am beginning to wonder if...

Re: Outlook / Hotmail Setup for Sending

I tried the 4.4.1 PP update, but still could not send email via Outlook/Hotmail. Then I saw that there was an update to the Webmail module (4.4.3), so I loaded that as well. I believe I am using the correct SMTP settings, but I still cannot send email via this account. Below is the log copy. If some...

Re: Outlook / Hotmail Setup for Sending

I used to be able to receive and send emails using Hotmail -- why it no longer works escapes me. Here's the most recent error log entry: --- Version --- OS: Windows XP POP Peeper: 4.4.0.0 Webmail: 4.4.2.0 SSL: 1.0.2.11 IMAP: 4.4.0.0 SendMail: 4.4.0.0 --- Error --- Hotmail - J [ 0: POP3] ['pop-mail.o...

Outlook / Hotmail Setup for Sending

I have several Hotmail accounts setup via the Outlook website. POPpeeper can receive Outlook / Hotmail email in two ways -- POP3 mode, or by using the POPpeeper webmail plugin. As far as I can tell, both of these work to receive email. However, although I used to be able to do this, I can no longer ...

Re: "Send To" Address Setting

lakrsrool pretty much summed it up. One way to think of it: the .eml format is exactly the same format in which email is transmitted via servers and clients. So any email client should be fully of opening the .eml format. That being said, I don't know if this is still the case, but Outlook is one k...

Re: "Send To" Address Setting

Jeff can better answer all your questions, but I'll just touch on some of what your asking for now as I understand it. Thunderbird is one of a number of Email Clients that use the .eml extension for their message files (actually .eml belongs to the Microsoft's family of e-mail clients). The reason ...

Re: "Send To" Address Setting

I had an opportunity to send a reply last night via PP. When I inspected the saved sent message, the header fields (including "from" and "reply to") were correct. However I did notice something I had not paid attention to previously. The saved message file had the extension "...

Re: "Send To" Address Setting

Is it possible that you changed the account while the reply window was open? Do you have a specific example where this happened? By default, POP Peeper saves all messages that you've sent, so we can examine the original message and see what's happening -- whether it was sent from a different accoun...

Re: "Send To" Address Setting

Yes, my Reply-To field contains exactly the same Verizon email address. IOW, there is no mention of Yahoo in any respect within the settings for my Verizon account. As a matter of fact, for all the accounts I have set up in PP, wherever a Reply-To field is available, my habit is to fill those in wit...

Re: "Send To" Address Setting

I have always used the most up to date Webmail plugin (I believe currently, 4.2.4.0), but this problem is not new -- this odd "reply-to" behavior has been going on for a long time (maybe years; certainly many months). As far as I can tell, the problem does not seem to be with the Yahoo acc...
