Re: Extract address book from backup
Hi Jeff, I didn't get pp working properly under Wine. The problems I had with pp/Wine were the address book wasn't ported and each time I rebooted I had to restore the settings from the backup - it didn't save the settings. So - I gave up on it and spent hours getting tbird to look like pp. That was...

Re: Extract address book from backup
Hi Jeff, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Yes, I found those files but can't open either the csx or inx files. I tried renaming to csv and ini but still didn't work - just get a load of gobbledygook. Re- cancelling OAuth - haha - just got it working in new system on mint also - only taken a...

[SOLVED] Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Well, while I'm here - best let you know.
Yes, it was my installation causing the problem.
As soon as I tried it in pp on another system Yahoo and OAuth worked seemlessly with pp.
Sorry for the waste of time but such is life....
THANKYOU

Extract address book from backup
Hi, Hope all is well. I recently managed to break my computer and to cut a long story short am now trying Linux Mint. Unfortunately PP didn't work very well on either of the emulators I tried and for that I am truly truly upset. Is there a way to extract my address book out of one of the zipped back...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Jeff,
Apologies for the delay.
Yes, it is IE8 that is installed.
It is fine for Gmail as I have reset the credentials a few times, but it never works for Yahoo.com
Cheers,

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Jeff, Yes, I'll definitely post back. I was going to try it out for a gmail account and see if that has the same problem, but will save that for a rainy day. Hi again, Yes, Gmail definitely is fine with OAuth and deleting/renewing the credentials. It is just a problem with my accounts on yahoo.c...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Jeff, Yes, I'll definitely post back. I was going to try it out for a gmail account and see if that has the same problem, but will save that for a rainy day. Just a quick question..... Does the OAuth permission lie in pp somewhere? For instance, if I was to restore a backup made last month when O...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
"When I follow your link to the Yahoo security page, there is no option to enable less secure apps. There is an option to "Generate an app password" but I can't see an option in pp to play that game." I'm not sure why that option wouldn't be there. However, keep in mind that you...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi, Yes, I run an antivirus and just checked with a couple of (updated) anti-malware scans also. I'm quite security conscious. Seems that file might possibly be related to a language pack that I don't use so its unlikely to be causing this problem. SFC /scannow just came up with the error (in cbs.lo...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi laksrool, Yes, I've done a few reboots, sfc, safe mode etc. IE 11 won't install at all even though it seems to go through the process without a problem, and in fact I can't enable/re-enable in windows programs/features as that comes up with an error each time. So until I fix that, which I think w...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi, yet again.
Forget if for now - there is a problem with the IE update on this computer.
Will try and figure that out then update this post if/when I get time to figure it out.
Cheers

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi, I updated to IE 11 and still getting the same screen for that Yahoo account, along with the yellow banner at the bottom saying that it works best with an up to date browser. I reinstalled a fresh copy of pp over the initial install to see if that would reset anything - no luck there. For the oth...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Pete, Thanks for that. The issue has gone away again so hopefully it was that. Jeff, I can delete the OAuth2 credentials in another Yahoo account, to see if they can be re-authorised. Could also try a Gmail account to experiment? Will try that in a few hours hopefully when I get some time to play...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Jeff, Yes, I've toyed with the idea, but IE does seem to be quite invasive. A bit apple-like if you see what I mean. I agree that generally it should be updated but I think I 'locked it down' as much as a user can when I first set up the computer. Would there be a way for me to trick pp into usin...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Jeff, You're right. When I take out the password in pp it doesn't work again. In Yahoo 'less secure apps' are enabled though. I'm fine with it working as is though - but I'll leave it to you if you want to play. When I 'edit' the account in pp I get the 'do you want to enable OAuth2' popup. If I ...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Jeff, OAuth2 is working now - it started working without playing around in pp. I think that because the plugin stopped the button in Yahoo (that enables/disables less secure apps) from working, once the plugin was disabled, I stopped receiving the error in Yahoo also. Seemed to be a bit of a chok...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
By now you probably know how robust pp is, so there is usually an aspect of user error somewhere along the path.
Thanks for you patience

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Oh dear oh dear oh dear. The easy option would be for me to run away and hide my head in a sandpit somewhere. OK, I use Opera browser and have a few different anti-ad/anti track plugins. It seems that Privacy Badger was the one causing the problem with enabling/disabling pp in Yahoo on the link Jeff...

Re: Problem with Yahoo.com with one email account
Hi Jeff, Well done - The webmail update solved one of the problems. One of the new accounts now receives email. This has the default pp Yahoo server. Unfortunately I can't seem to send from this account. I've tried webmail server to send and it comes up with " * - Suspended Webmail Account not ...
