If I don't open PP (and I never do) then the flag will go away after I retrieve messages using TBird, but not until the next auto-check, as above. Ok, we can agree that this is the expected behavior? I have to say, I don't use PP for anything except the tray notification. I never open its interface unless I'm modifying an email account or making some other needed change. Nothing has changed in that area for a couple of years. And It's all strictly POP3, no use of IMAP, SMTP, webmail, Gmail etc. ...
