Re: Windows 7: Yahoo on email software

Welcome to the forum Inside Out , After upgrading POP Peeper to v4.3, here are the recommended settings for a Yahoo account: Incoming : Edit account, (right-click on account in account list in left pane of main POP Peeper menu and select "Edit account..." and then make sure you're on "...

Re: How can I prevent the appearance of the message which appears each time I access my Yahoo inbox on my browser?

Interestingly I just got an Authorization problem message presumably related to POP Peeper access from Yahoo for one of our accounts (after using the Webmail protocol for a very long time) that is ironically relevant to this topic: Account not authorized for PP message.png so I changed back to IMAP ...

Re: Error (Send)

You could try exiting and restarting POP Peeper and/or rebooting your computer to see if this helps. Sometimes a conflict of some kind (glitches) can occur that can be cleared up by doing either, especially a reboot. If in fact the error persists for this specific account then I would recommend tryi...

Re: Error (Send)

This type of error basically means that an error occurred when PP tried to send a command, i.e. the connection may have been severed. The error is generated by the Client (in this case MSN [Hotmail]) and is not a problem with POP Peeper. In this specific case regarding the "Error (Send)"; ...

That error may eventually clear, if not see if these settings work for you.

Re: How can I prevent the appearance of the message which appears each time I access my Yahoo inbox on my browser?

I finally just switched from IMAP to Webmail (Yahoo) and selected "Turn off access". Switching to the Yahoo server and turning off less secure access are probably the only solution. Actually to be accurate I was remiss to have not mentioned the preferred alternative of using OAuth2 just a...

Jeff wrote: Matthew -- we can't see your image, which is why I was confused.
The image doesn't work in PP and for some reason brings up some kind of odd Google page when used in the browser address bar.... (which is I'm sure why it doesn't work in PP).

Re: How can I prevent the appearance of the message which appears each time I access my Yahoo inbox on my browser?

Good point Jeff , I overlooked mentioning this approach which I should have mentioned so of course you're correct to bring this up. But the reason I've personally been inclined to not go this route is because I've had multiple occurrences with issues receiving messages in the PP inbox using OAuth2 i...

Re: How can I prevent the appearance of the message which appears each time I access my Yahoo inbox on my browser?

Still not off my "Yahoo is evil" soap-box, check this out, we got this prompt today logging on the web, can you believe it!?!: Yahoo bribe crap.png which I would call extortion for the purpose of cajoling people to use their search engine. Notice there is not any "not interested"...

Re: How can I prevent the appearance of the message which appears each time I access my Yahoo inbox on my browser?

Yahoo has this nag prompt that has been very annoying which is probably what this is about (for me image doesn't work in post): Yahoo less secure access nag.png checking into this the "less secure access" is considered a "temporary" setting by Yahoo (which in itself is annoying) ...

Looking in the same "storage" window as spc3rd had you go to ("Tools" > "Options" > "Storage") what is the file path you use for your Ini location setting (where your "poppeeper.ini" resides)? [edit from Jeff: need both 'Ini location' and 'data path'...

Re: where do deleted emails go in PP

If it has not been too long since the message was deleted you can simply log-in (if you aren't already) to your Yahoo Client account on the Internet and find the message in the "Trash" folder of your Yahoo account (keep in mind that at some point Yahoo will remove Deleted "Trash"...

Re: SAVING mssgs locally

As a follow-up to the above post, most likely your "Archive" folder (like other PP files) will be located in the " AppData " file path, i.e. Archive location in AppData.png and with that in mind, it occurred to me that your problem could be that your " AppData " folder ...

Re: verizon.net going out email business

Keep in mind that the verizon.net accounts will be changed over to Yahoo accounts due to the closing down of all Verizon.net accounts as of March 31, so you've got time . This of course has to do with Verizon's purchase of Yahoo . You do not need to be concerned about any of the email provider...

Re: verizon.net going out email business

What Verizon is doing is as you say discontinuing their verizon.net email account service and in it's place will by using Yahoo mail. Verizon will be contacting you via your verizon.net account as far as what you will need to do to move your messages from your verizon.net account to the new Yahoo ac...

See if exiting and restarting POP Peeper helps, if not try rebooting the computer.

If the problem persists and you are not getting any errors then Jeff may want to get a "quick log" from you.
