Re: Gmail: unknown error?

lakrsrool informed me that this had already been suggested above -- sorry about that. I would suggest double-checking it anyway, and if you still can't find those messages, send an email so that we can get a log from you.

Re: Gmail: unknown error?

Ok, if I understand correctly, your account in POP Peeper: - Is set to server type = "GMail" - The actual inbox has 2 messages (ie. as displayed by your webbrowser at gmail.com) - POP Peeper does not report an error - POP Peeper does not display the 2 messages Please do the following to se...

Re: Marked as read

Let me know where you're getting stuck. I followed my own instructions successfully, but that doesn't mean I didn't miss something... Anyway, this is really just to make things easier since the only thing left to do to troubleshoot the issue is get a log from you and see what's really going on. It's...

Re: Gmail: unknown error?

valkyrie -- it's possible that you're behind a firewall that blocks this kind of access (that is, encrypted IMAP/POP3 access). This is not uncommon in a corporate environment, but not likely if you're trying to access from home. Do you have any other POP3 or IMAP accounts that are using SSL or TLS, ...

I edited the instructions to add step #5 to the "move" set, and made a couple of other clarifying edits, that is, the name of the resulting folder will be INBOX.pptest

Re: Marked as read

Ok, looks good. This next test is best done with an account currently connected to an account in the idle state. To see if an account is in idle, make sure that no activity is occurring (ie. the PP status bar says "X minutes remaining..."), then right-click on an IMAP account and see if &q...

Re: Marked as read

I need to check your versions:
From PP's main menu, select File / Error overview
Press the 'copy' button
Then use Paste in your reply.

Re: Marked as read

Are you sure that PP is using IMAP for the account(s) in question? It won't work for WebMail server types (Hotmail, GMail, Yahoo, etc.) -- you must use IMAP for those accounts instead. To clarify, those accounts listed CAN use IMAP, you just have to make sure the "server type" is IMAP and ...

Re: Marked as read

Note to others: this refers to a feature that will be added in v4.1, which is currently in beta. Existing ini files need to manually enable this option in v4.1 (it's enabled by default for new ini files). This is mentioned on the beta download page and on the upgrade window when you start PP v4.1 fo...

Re: Gmail: unknown error?

I would recommend switching your GMail account(s) to use IMAP instead of WebMail. This will skip a lot of potential problems and you'll also gain more features by using IMAP. To switch, you'll need to do 2 things: 1) Edit the account and change the "server type" to IMAP 2) More than likely...

Re: Date/time stamp for "connection errors"?

I have briefly considered adding more to the error log in the past (ie. an error log history), but it's not something that's high on the "todo" list. You can use the logger to find a history of the errors (along with a lot of other information); press Ctrl+D to access/enable it.

If running Outlook as a non-admin is an acceptable solution, I found what looks like a way to fix that problem: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/officeversion_other-outlook/cant-uncheck-run-this-program-as-an-administrator/d23219c0-d927-469b-a9fd-55eecccce8ad?auth=1 Here's the relevan...

olegausa, please provide a sample (or multiple if they are from different companies) by viewing the message, then select File / Save message as and save it to a file. Send the files as attachments. Re: we detected something unusual about a recent sign-in to

What lakrsrool said is exactly right -- it would be undesirable for POP Peeper to skip past the notices that the webmail service provides. You can use IMAP which will avoid those types of problems; however, many people have found that Hotmail's IMAP server is not the greatest in reliability so you m...

Re: Yahoo error mail box in use...

"server error" -- that means something went wrong on their end. Yahoo tends to have its ups and downs; its downs can last a couple of weeks sometimes, but overall, it's more up than down.

Re: Yahoo error mail box in use...

Check to make sure that you don't have any POP3 clients trying to access the account. The POP3 protocol generally only allows one connection at a time. Another possibility is that Yahoo may only allow a certain number of connections to the account at one time; or even a certain number of connections...

Re: Does customize toolbar work and how to setup spam for de

For some reason, I thought you were referring to something else. Regardless, I still need to know the location of your ini file, as I suspect it's write-protected. To automatically delete messages from senders in your blacklist: 1) From the main menu, select Tools / AntiJunk -> Main interface 2) Sel...
