Re: color background on open message

Try exiting and restarting POP Peeper, and reboot Windows if the first doesn't work.

If that doesn't work, I'd like to see a screenshot, too, as POP Peeper doesn't provide a way to change the background color of an opened message so seeing it in context may help.

Re: Hotmail not working

Make sure that you have POP Peeper v4.0.1 AND Webmail v4.0.18. WebMail v4.0.18 was released on Aug 6 to fix the problem with Hotmail accounts returning 0 messages. First upgrade to POP Peeper v4 . Then, go to Help / About and it may not have updated WebMail v4.0.18 yet, so do the following: - Make s...

Re: Make inbox searchable

Once POP Peeper v4.1 is released, I'll be considering what the next major version will feature. I have a short-list of items that are necessary and others that will be considered (like this one) and will be getting more ideas about what people want to see after the release.

Re: Connection settings broken in V4?

I just performed the following test: - Changed IE to use a bad proxy server - Opened PP and checked a Hotmail account -> result: error -1000 - Changed PP settings to use "direct connection" - Checked hotmail again and it worked - Changed Internet settings back to "no proxy" - Set...

Re: Pop peeper cannot "see " outlook mail

btw, this is for server type = "Hotmail/Outlook" not IMAP, although there's really no reason why IMAP shouldn't work unless you have the settings incorrect.

Also, if you have MSN/Hotmail/Live, then you're using a very old version that's not going to work.

Assuming that "all" your accounts are Hotmail/outlook.com, see this post:

Re: Windows 10 - PopPeeper v401 Sent Mail

The problem is because of UAC -- you're trying to use a portable data folder in the "Program Files" folder. This was fine in XP, but not in anything since Vista. You have 2 choices: 1) - Exit POP Peeper -Move the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\POP Peeper\ to somewhere that isn't protected ...

Re: Activesync (EAS)

That definitely makes it more intriguing. At this point, I'm wrapping v4.1 up (it's already much later than I was hoping) and I have made no plans for the next version, or even whether it will be v4.2 or v5.0.

Re: Activesync (EAS)

I wasn't previously familiar with carddav. Having read just the wiki , my initial reaction is that it may be better suited than ldap and *may* have wider support. I actually don't know what support ldap has, but the carddav wiki mentions many services that support it, most notably GMail; unfortunate...

Re: Activesync (EAS)

This family of protocols comes up for suggestion every few years, going back to the original ActiveSync which has been obsolete for 8 years. So I had to brush up on the technology and here's the short list: ActiveSync/WebDAV: officially discontinued in 2009 (after a couple of years of being unoffici...

Re: weird font display in Windows 10

I tried loading a couple RSS feeds in my Win10 preview and it looks normal to me. Are you using POP Peeper v4.0.x or v4.1 beta? (it may make a difference) Also, here's something else to test: Open the RSS feed using Edge (the new IE), and then click on the "..." on the top-right and select...

Re: Won't mark as read on GoDaddy Webspace email

I've answered your questions regarding the beta and actual read-state stuff via email. Back to this invalid session error -- there must be something blocking POP Peeper's access to esumsoft.com as I also see that it says that the latest webmail version is v4.0.9; which was from March 11. So the prob...

Re: weird font display in Windows 10

The "Select font" option will be disabled if you're viewing the message in HTML. So that could mean that the RSS feed has specified a strange font in the HTML or it could mean that something is bad on your end. What's the URL of the RSS feed and I'll check it out. Send the URL via PM if yo...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

Yeah, that's the problem with memory-related issues -- it's rather inconsistent. In my testing, it would usually crash when trying to download too much data (that was the key in the original problem I mentioned), but there were other times when I would try to do something and it would popup an "...

Re: Won't mark as read on GoDaddy Webspace email

First, to address your original question -- are you accessing your GoDaddy accounts from POP Peeper using POP3 or IMAP? Edit the account and reference the "server type" to confirm. If it's using IMAP, then what you describe doesn't quite jive with how IMAP should work *, even if you're usi...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

Glad to know that that was the problem! It's just by good timing that I suspected that may be the problem -- someone else had a report of crashing a couple weeks ago (although it was a different action that caused it then viewing an HTML message) that we determined to be a memory issue. In fact, in ...

Re: How to delete auto-complete email addresses memory

The addresses used by auto-complete are in POP Peeper's address book. So you can access the address book ("Addresses" on the main toolbar) to edit or delete anything that is incorrect.

Re: weird font display in Windows 10

I'm still waiting for the Win10 upgrade, but I do have the Tech Preview installed and there is no font issue here. You may have changed the font to something that is no longer registered and it's trying to use something weird. To change it back -- When viewing a message, select Options / Select font...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

The amount of data you have stored in PP is almost certainly the problem. When you disabled the plugin (WOT?) you probably just freed up a little memory and bought yourself a little time before you started hitting memory issues again. PP is not very memory-efficient at the moment, and it's something...
