Re: Gmail Archive
OK... here's the current status: The capability to be able to move messages around in imap folders was already completed and will be available in the Plus Pack v4.1. I had previously added the back-end code (ie. no GUI option) to allow a global override of the "delete" folder. But after re...

To follow-up on this -- the next version will ask if you want to delete these files so that you can continue to use the spell checker without having to find and delete the files yourself.

Re: Some emails not showing
I'm glad you figured it out. Be sure to mark those messages as Legitimate (select them and press the "Mark Legit" button on the toolbar or press the 'L' key on your keyboard) so that
a) they get moved back to the inbox
b) POP Peeper can learn that they're not Junk

Re: Uncheck "U.S. FTC" makes Pop Peeper to crash
Thanks for reporting this, Aiden. And I apologize for the problem. The "new" button becomes (incorrectly) disabled if no service is selected in the list. I have just fixed it for the next version. If this is something that you don't want to wait for, email me and we can insert a service ma...

Re: Aspeller error
Sorry about the problem. Yes, I'm certain that you're correct about an improper shutdown causing data corruption. I haven't seen it happen with POP Peeper, but I have another utility that I use the spell-checker with and a computer crash has caused the same problem. I'll improve that for the next ve...

Re: Zoho POP3 Stopped Working
I will probably have to see a log of the communication between PP and the server when the error occurs -- so email me and we'll get that started.
Let me know if you don't get the reply notification.

Re: one account has " in unread column
It's ok to use Thunderbird instead of PP and that shouldn't cause any problems. But there's no reason that a quote should appear in that column... Have you tried exiting and restarting PP? If it still happens, can you send a screenshot and maybe I'll see something in it that can be explained. Send t...

Re: Gmail Archive
POP Peeper Plus Pack v4.1 will support this in one form or another, but let me ask you this: 1) Would it suffice if you could move messages to that folder? It may not be as convenient as simply deleting it, but it would be more flexible. (Imagine it as a toolbar button with a dropdown menu from whic...

Re: POPPeeper not open browser
Does this happen for all email or just some email (ie. from a certain sender)?
If it's for all links, make sure that the appropriate option is enabled under main menu: Tools / Pptweaker; Misc2 page: "Force POP Peeper to open links in your external browser" (this is enabled by default)

Re: How to import v3.8.1 email account to V4.0.1
Your account information are included directly in the ini file. I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say that they "do not update" -- are you saying that the accounts are not listed in POP Peeper's Account List (on the left side of PP)? If so, then you have the wrong ini file. I'm g...

PPtweaker is now included with the installation for v4, so an extra webpage/download is no longer necessary.

Re: Want to tag email to be shown and not deleted
Welcome to the Forums, techmanc. Yes, what you want to do is "Archive" the message. There are a couple ways to do this, but if you use it even once in a while, the best way is probably to add it to the Toolbar (both the Main and View-Message toolbars support it); select View / Customize To...

Re: Pop peeper launching ?
It sounds like Chrome is your default browser so I think that lakrsrool's Option #2 is what you're looking for. It is best if you set Firefox back to the default browser, but you can also tell PP what browser to use under Tools / PPtweaker / Misc 2 ("browser to launch URLs" at the bottom).

Re: Deleted Message Indicator Missing
In that case, it will use the default columns, which does include the '!' column. Just to make sure, I tested that condition and upgraded from v3->v4 and the column was there. So the mystery remains unsolved.

Re: Deleted Message Indicator Missing
Sorry for not mentioning this before, but I'd still like to see the data field that you had from v3 so that I can try to duplicate it and see why there was a problem. Archive -- PP only archives messages if you tell it to. To access archived messages, select the account in the Accounts List and then...

Re: VPN and POP Peeper
You can try port 25. You might also try regular SSL on port 465. TLS will use 25/587 so you won't have any better luck with that connection. Otherwise, it's possible that the vpn doesn't want you sending mail through it? (e.g. doesn't want to be blacklisted for spamming) I'm not an expert with vpn's...

Re: VPN and POP Peeper
If receiving email doesn't have a problem, I wouldn't expect sending to, unless perhaps something in the vpn isn't configured correctly. What error does POP Peeper report? And what port / SSL configuration are you using (if applicable)?

Re: Upgrade issues
The problem may be with the way that this particular install (of v3) was created. In certain cases, if PPv3 was installed in Program Files and was set to use a portable install (e.g. so the data files were stored under C:\Program Files\POP Peeper\data\), the upgrade process will have problems. Here'...
