Re: OpenSSL
In that case, I've just started using it. I think it's the first time in over a decade I'm using PP's official SSL. But is this indeed the "future build" you promised all these months ago? For legal reasons, this distribution does not include certain Encryption Algorithms. * So I will be r...

Re: OpenSSL
So I will be removing these flags from future builds, and the SSL libraries that I distribute will be much closer to a default build Until then I don't see why not stating this officially. 1.0.2p has been available on esumsoft.com for some time: But your webpage displays "v1.0.2.11" which...

Re: SSL in Pop Peeper
They may be true, but support for v1.1.0 has already ended except security fixes ("1.1.1 is our new LTS release we are strongly advising all users to upgrade as soon as possible"). Speaking of which, support for v1.0.2 ends next month and it'll only get security fixes too. By the end of 20...

Re: OpenSSL
The issue is actually with certain algorithms that have patents. I cannot say with any authority that these algorithms are more or less secure than the others. It's possible that they're not any more secure, or it's possible that they're lower in the priority, or it's even possible that the server ...

Re: SSL in Pop Peeper
As a semi-relevant side-note: POP Peeper v5 will be using OpenSSL v1.1. v1.0 and v1.1 are not compatible (meaning PPv4 can't use SSLv1.1 and PPv5 can't use SSLv1.0). Actually, enough years have passed since v1.1 was launched that by now there are already two new versions past the stable stage - v1....

Re: Activation should occur before premium plugins are loaded
Yes, in my last post I've explained that the requirement is another polling session and not a restart. I've just edited the thread's subject to reflect that.
So in this new code, will it be identical to having AutoCheck off when the program starts, and then turning it on a second later?

Re: Activation requires a program restart
Done as you requested and now I know what happened. The order of actions is the following: Pop Peeper checks for messages (assuming AutoCheck is on). Pop Peeper asks me to re-activate. Well, maybe technically it's simultaneous but the e-mail check is complete way before the re-activation is ready. T...

poppeeper.ini's [OAuth2] keeps supposedly deleted items
Pop Pepper is a pretty portable program, but I've noticed the [OAuth2] section in poppeeper.ini lists accounts that were already deleted. They even have AuthExpire UNIX times of years ago. As the years go by, this section is more and more bloated. Can you automatically delete items that no longer ha...

Re: Activation requires a program restart
To answer those questions better, is there a way to reset the activation so I'll tell you in real time? Any poppeeper.ini setting to do so?

Re: v4.5.2's list of Changed files is not accurate
I didn't go that far. To prove the point without even extracting the files, I just checked dates. Once I saw some files were newer, then I did extract to compare some sizes. One or two comparisons were enough to prove I might as well extract everything. Then I made the extracted files overwrite the ...

Re: v4.5.2's list of Changed files is not accurate
Why don't your just overwrite all the files...? If I knew the reason maybe I could do something different. Because I also overwrite files through Google Drive and I don't think you can do it recursively there, so it helps me to know how many folders I need to go through. Even more so, when you over...

Activation should occur before premium plugins are loaded
After running the new v4.5.2 for the first time, the Activation window popped up. But even though I ran it successfully it still disabled my plugins and I had to close PP and open it again. Why does it happen every time I upgrade? If it requires a restart then will you consider to: Alert me about it...

v4.5.2's list of Changed files is not accurate
Whenever there's a new version, I download the ZIP and overwrite myself and other acquaintances' existing files, so I found it interesting this time https://www.esumsoft.com/products/pop-peeper/versionhistory/ claims only 3 files were changed from v4.5.1, which was supposed to make my job easier. Al...

Re: SSL connection failed connecting to GMX
The 1 listing custom made cacert.pem worked perfectly. I didn't even need to restart PP! But whether it'll be v4.5.1 or v5, please don't forget to fix this part, who knows if other listings fail too: The logic in v4.5 is that cacert-full.pem will only be used on an as-needed basis; unfortunately, im...

Re: SSL connection failed connecting to GMX
Next release as in hopefully 4.5.1 and not 5.0? It sounds best to still use it on an as-needed basis. So since eventually it's just a text file, can you tell me how to manually add a listing for GMX? Yes, I clean uninstalled. I like running apps in a portable way, so I keep just the INI, etc. and re...

Re: SSL connection failed connecting to GMX
After it broke in v4.4 and got fixed in v4.4.2 (or even 4.4.1) it stopped working again as soon as I upgraded to v4.5 (which contained a new and much larger cacert-full.pem):
SSL connection failed (certificate failed: self signed certificate in certificate chain (19))

Re: SSL issues after 4.4
Turns out the F1 issue was because I had to enter POPPeeper.chm's properties and click to unblock. I believe that gmx.net is only free if you live in Germany. However, I don't need an account to check the SSL status. I may have a solution for this, I'll get back.p Back when I registered there, it wa...
