Re: Skin notifier doesn't work

For the first problem you noted about PP reloading all your messages: it sounds like the "unique IDs" (UIDs) of the messages changed. Each message has a UID and this tells PP that it already has the message and doesn't have to download them again. If the message's UID changes (which should...

Re: import PP email addresses

I may be wrong, but my first thought was that hime3 was asking about the email accounts, not the address book. Email accounts (and most settings) are in the poppeeper.ini file, which can be copied to another computer. The addrbook.csx file can be copied, too, which is usually in the same folder note...

Re: Yahoo - all details showing/Basic Mail/Unsupported Brows

There are 2 potential solutions to this problem: 1) As you've already discovered, use IMAP (or POP3) to access the account 2) Make sure that POP Peeper is not displaying the entire web page: in POP Peeper v4: main menu: Tools / PPtweaker / Misc: "When viewing messages, show entire web page (web...

Re: Password window

Ok, gotcha. I've added your idea to my notes, but I'm leary that it won't work out because of potential side-effects of making that window appear in the taskbar. Ideally, it would be better if POP Peeper would start nearly instantaneously, and that's something that I plan on addressing for the next ...

Re: Skin notifier doesn't work

Note that you do not need to set those values to "entire message" and in fact I don't recommend that. The default/recommended values are: POP3: entire webmail: preview imap: preview The minimum value you would need is "headers" -- so 'headers' or 'preview' or 'entire' will work; ...

Re: Configuring Chimes

The tray icon balloon tip (Tools / Options / Notification) will appear in both cases: whether POP Peeper is opened or minimized when you receive new email. All notifications will work when POP Peeper is minimized, it's just that some won't activate if PP is already opened. And to clarify what I mean...

Re: Yahoo error mail box in use...

The problems that Yahoo has with IMAP will *generally* not affect retrieving the same email account using http/webmail; and it may not affect all Yahoo accounts -- Yahoo distributes email accounts among different servers so it's not unusual to have one Yahoo/imap account having persistent problems a...

In addition to lakrsrool's questions:
- Where is POP Peeper storing its data? Check the "Data path" under main menu: Tools / Options / Storage.

Re: Skin notifier doesn't work

You probably changed that in v3.8 and forgot about it. In v4.1, PP will ask you what you want to do if you haven't already set it.

Re: Configuring Chimes

It will chime until POP Peeper is opened. If POP Peeper is already open when new email arrives... (had to test it to find out) then it will play once but not repeat. If you have a wav file that you want to repeat, then you should be using the "sound" tab instead of the "command" ...

Re: Password window

Welcome to the POP Peeper forums, flechedargent. I'm not able to duplicate this behavior of the password confirmation appearing below other windows, can you tell me: 1) What version of POP Peeper you have (look under the main menu: Help / About) 2) What you're doing to see the password confirmation ...

Re: Skin notifier doesn't work

It sounds like you only downloaded the skin, but you have to download and install the actual skin notifier, as well. If you don't see "Notification skin" under Tools / Plugins, then you do need to install it: http://www.esumsoft.com/products/pop-peeper/plugins/#SkinNotifier The individual ...

Re: Suggestions for mails with multiple addresses

Sorry, I don't try to guess at ETAs because it always ends up being later than I expect. In fact, a month ago I thought v4.1 would have been released by now, but I'm currently in the middle of coding a rather significant update which is delaying things again. But you can download the v4.1 beta. To g...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

I didn't know about that UAC settings that lakrsrool mentioned, but as he said, changing that doesn't affect how UAC works. But, you certainly had all the symptoms of UAC being active, so it doesn't sound like UAC is disabled as you thought.

Re: not leaving copy on yahoo server?

Using SMTP to send will not save a copy. However, what you can do is BCC yourself (you can set PP to automatically BCC yourself: edit account; Send Mail page; set BCC to your own email address) and then create a server-side rule to automatically move messages from your email address into the 'Sent' ...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

If by "before 4.0.1" you mean v3.x (as opposed to v4.0), then the reason is that Windows treats v4 differently because of UAC. v3 was not "UAC-aware" so Windows would store files in the VirtualStore folder instead of the Program Files folder. If you're not familiar with some of t...

Re: Suggestions for mails with multiple addresses

The problem with your solution is that the recipients will also see that modification. That is, instead of "Joe Smith" <jsmith@example.com> the recipients will see "z Joe Smith" <jsmith@example.com> But, you brought this up at just the right time. I decided to implement a very si...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

It means that POP Peeper's ini file is write-protected (ie. read-only). Presumably, it's not because the file itself is read-only, but it's probably protected by Windows UAC. In that case, you need to move the file: 1) In POP Peeper's main menu, select Tools / Options 2) Select the "Storage&quo...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

007me -- try logging into the account with your webbrowser; if you are automatically signed in, you must sign out and sign back in. GMail may be requesting something from you which is blocking POP Peeper. You may even be required to change your password. If you have enabled 2-step verification, then...
