Re: Configuring Chimes

It will chime until POP Peeper is opened. If POP Peeper is already open when new email arrives... (had to test it to find out) then it will play once but not repeat. If you have a wav file that you want to repeat, then you should be using the "sound" tab instead of the "command" ...

Re: Password window

Welcome to the POP Peeper forums, flechedargent. I'm not able to duplicate this behavior of the password confirmation appearing below other windows, can you tell me: 1) What version of POP Peeper you have (look under the main menu: Help / About) 2) What you're doing to see the password confirmation ...

Re: Skin notifier doesn't work

It sounds like you only downloaded the skin, but you have to download and install the actual skin notifier, as well. If you don't see "Notification skin" under Tools / Plugins, then you do need to install it: http://www.esumsoft.com/products/pop-peeper/plugins/#SkinNotifier The individual ...

Re: Suggestions for mails with multiple addresses

Sorry, I don't try to guess at ETAs because it always ends up being later than I expect. In fact, a month ago I thought v4.1 would have been released by now, but I'm currently in the middle of coding a rather significant update which is delaying things again. But you can download the v4.1 beta. To g...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

I didn't know about that UAC settings that lakrsrool mentioned, but as he said, changing that doesn't affect how UAC works. But, you certainly had all the symptoms of UAC being active, so it doesn't sound like UAC is disabled as you thought.

Re: not leaving copy on yahoo server?

Using SMTP to send will not save a copy. However, what you can do is BCC yourself (you can set PP to automatically BCC yourself: edit account; Send Mail page; set BCC to your own email address) and then create a server-side rule to automatically move messages from your email address into the 'Sent' ...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

If by "before 4.0.1" you mean v3.x (as opposed to v4.0), then the reason is that Windows treats v4 differently because of UAC. v3 was not "UAC-aware" so Windows would store files in the VirtualStore folder instead of the Program Files folder. If you're not familiar with some of t...

Re: Suggestions for mails with multiple addresses

The problem with your solution is that the recipients will also see that modification. That is, instead of "Joe Smith" <jsmith@example.com> the recipients will see "z Joe Smith" <jsmith@example.com> But, you brought this up at just the right time. I decided to implement a very si...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

It means that POP Peeper's ini file is write-protected (ie. read-only). Presumably, it's not because the file itself is read-only, but it's probably protected by Windows UAC. In that case, you need to move the file: 1) In POP Peeper's main menu, select Tools / Options 2) Select the "Storage&quo...

Sorry, not currently. I have added it to my notes, though, as it would be nice to be able to import/export rss feeds.

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

007me -- try logging into the account with your webbrowser; if you are automatically signed in, you must sign out and sign back in. GMail may be requesting something from you which is blocking POP Peeper. You may even be required to change your password. If you have enabled 2-step verification, then...

Re: Crashing on Mailcheck

Sorry for the problem. Can you tell if there's a specific account causing the problem? Here's a good way to test: 1) Start POP Peeper; assuming that PP doesn't immediately check for mail, press the small, green button on the bottom-right of the window. It will turn red to indicate that AutoCheck is ...

Re: email autodeleted

Welcome to the POP Peeper forums, lioxir. This is not a bug -- POP Peeper does not auto-delete any messages. The problem is likely that your email server is deleting the message itself after the message is retrieved by POP Peeper; this is somewhat uncommon but not unheard of (GMail does this, too). ...

Re: Gmail: unknown error?

lakrsrool informed me that this had already been suggested above -- sorry about that. I would suggest double-checking it anyway, and if you still can't find those messages, send an email so that we can get a log from you.

Re: Gmail: unknown error?

Ok, if I understand correctly, your account in POP Peeper: - Is set to server type = "GMail" - The actual inbox has 2 messages (ie. as displayed by your webbrowser at gmail.com) - POP Peeper does not report an error - POP Peeper does not display the 2 messages Please do the following to se...

Let me know where you're getting stuck. I followed my own instructions successfully, but that doesn't mean I didn't miss something... Anyway, this is really just to make things easier since the only thing left to do to troubleshoot the issue is get a log from you and see what's really going on. It's...

Re: Gmail: unknown error?

valkyrie -- it's possible that you're behind a firewall that blocks this kind of access (that is, encrypted IMAP/POP3 access). This is not uncommon in a corporate environment, but not likely if you're trying to access from home. Do you have any other POP3 or IMAP accounts that are using SSL or TLS, ...
