Re: Installing POP Peeper v4 on USB drive

That is not a normal folder name, so I don't know where POP Peeper got that from unless it was specified. Go to Tools / Options / Storage and set the "data path" to data to create the portable data folder. You may also want to make sure that the "Ini Location" is using the one yo...

Re: v4.0.1 will not save updated passwords

Glad you got it working! It sounds like what happened is that the v4 upgrade process successfully copied the file from "Program Files" into the "AppData" folder, but it didn't delete the original file (for whatever reason). POP Peeper always looks for the ini file in the local fo...

Re: v4.0.1 will not save updated passwords

When you right-click on a folder, the "read-only" state is always in the indeterminate state (neither enabled nor disabled), even if the containing files/folders are all either enabled or disabled. However, the problem is that the ini file is in the "Program Files" folder which i...

Done. It will only include the additional information if there is more than 1 message selected.

Re: v4.0.1 will not save updated passwords

It sounds like the ini file that stores your settings (and accounts' passwords) may not be saving; for example, the file may be set to read-only. Please let us know the location of your ini file: 1) From POP Peeper's main menu, select Tools / Options 2) Select the "Storage" page 3) Select ...

Re: regex in Voice Notification

There is simple wildcard and I've created several substitutions that perform a similar function, so you can probably already do what you want. (bug found: make sure you read this entire post before starting) For example, let's say you get an email from "Amazon" and the subject contains the...

Re: Embedded image doesn't display in email message

There is a problem display inline images with "Yahoo" -- I believe that I've looked into this before, but I'll look into it again. In the meantime, there is a solution -- access the account using IMAP instead of WebMail. You can do this by editing the account and changing the "server ...

captJac -- sorry for the problems you had, but glad you got it working as you expect. It's hard to say exactly what the problem may have been, but if you run into it again, please let us know. This kind of issue is better suited for discussion via email so that I can get specific details about the p...

Re: What is -v3 data folder?

Just to confirm -- it is safe to delete the "-v3" data folder, as it is simply a backup of the data files that v3 used before you upgraded to v4. v4 created it, but does not use it.

Noted.

It's unlikely that either of these will be in v4.1, but they will be considered for a future version.

Re: how to view archive with attachment

Try opening the same file in POP Peeper (main menu: File / Open saved message) and see if the attachment shows there. The .eml format is standard so if PP shows the message I couldn't tell you why TB doesn't, unless it's blocking it. I've run into somewhat similar problems myself recently with TB --...

Re: Gmail is not working today

Glad you got the problem resolved, but I noticed a couple of other things worth mentioning: 1) You're using an old beta of v4.0 -- v4.0.1 is available here: http://www.esumsoft.com/download/ (edit: oops: didn't notice that you already updated) 2) There was an early version of the SSL plugin v1.0.1.8...

Re: Gmail is not working today

The GMail error has been fixed in WebMail v4.0.15. You can either wait for it to auto-update (usually within 24 hours), or you can force an immediate update: 1) From POP Peeper's main menu: select Help / About 2) Make sure that both "automatically check for updates" and "auto-update w...

Re: Force compact option

"1 day" is really "24 hours" and it's only applicable when PP starts. So if you don't shutdown PP, it's not going to perform maintenance. Or if the previous DB maint was at 9:00a and you start PP at 8:59a the next day, it won't run.

Sorry for showing up late to the party! The messages may have been filtered by AntiJunk. Did the tray icon have a red envelope? That's one indication that unread messages are currently filtered. Another is that the "Junk View" button on the toolbar will be highlighted (yellow). In either c...

As lakrsrool mentioned, it basically allows you to type and search using either email address or name. In some cases, they may be very different, even starting with different letters.
