Re: Complete re-scanning of mailbox at each poppeeper start

Make sure that POP Peeper is set to store messages:
From the main menu, select Tools / Options
Select the "Storage" page
The "Storage" option should be set to "Entire message" (and not "None")

Re: Hughes net email

Check to see if POP Peeper is only retrieving the number of messages. There are 2 possibilities (global and per-account): 1) Global: a) From the main menu, select Tools / Options b) Select the "Message Retrieval" page c) Depending on the type of account, make sure that corresponding "...

Re: IMAP is failing with "SSL connection failed" [RESOLVED]

Glad it's working again. I suspect that there was some weird combination of v3/v4 files as the duplicate imap.dll file suggested. SSL requires 2 files (ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll), so perhaps one of those files was mismatched with the other.

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

An update to fix the GMail error -- Login Error -- has been released, WebMail v4.0.17. You can either wait for POP Peeper to auto-update, which will usually occur within 24 hours, or you can force an immediate update using this procedure: 1) On POP Peeper's main menu, select About POP Peeper under t...

Re: IMAP is failing with "SSL connection failed"

More than likely, there is still something that's blocking the SSL port. What I would try is to access one of the same accounts using TLS, and if that doesn't work, no SSL/TLS just to make sure IMAP can connect (if you have other non-encrypted IMAP accounts that aren't listed here [ie. no error], th...

Re: IMAP is failing with "SSL connection failed"

Montagar, please do the following to remove the extraneous IMAP plugin: 1) Exit POP Peeper 2) Open Windows Explorer to where POP Peeper is installed. Usually: C:\Program Files (x86)\POP Peeper\ or C:\Program Files\POP Peeper\ 3) Look for any .dll files that you may have renamed. Specifically, you ca...

Re: Issue with Google Forms inside PopPeeper

The issue is that forms are not supported when displayed directly in the POP Peeper view-message window. Basically, POP Peeper can't tell if you're typing in a form or if you're using a keyboard shortcut. You can, however, disable any keyboard shortcuts that might interfere; specifically, any single...

Re: Q: Apply newly-created Rules (AntiJunk) to offline messa

"Remove messages from list" is only available if you have enabled "Advanced options" under Tools / Options / General. It's primarily a trouble-shooting technique (and developer's tool). As for plural-izing "messages" -- that's the kind of thing I did in the early days -...

Re: Pop Peeper Pro 4.01 and Skin notifier plugin issue

The balloon tooltip shows last message information. There are plenty of skins that don't show that information. It's possible that someone would want to use such a skin, but still be able to see the last message information in the balloon. I don't try to force anything on the user -- if someone want...

Re: Pop Peeper Pro 4.01 and Skin notifier plugin issue

Presumably, you're referring to the Balloon tip, here's how to disable: 1) Main Menu: Tools / Options 2) Select the "Notification" page 3) Uncheck "Display tray icon balloon tip" 4) Press OK to save I think it may be a good idea to disable the balloon tooltip (and possibly the de...

Let me know if you run across any that you think should have it. There are times when it could be useful, but others where it may just be useless information getting in the way of reading what's important.

Re: Installing POP Peeper v4 on USB drive

That is not a normal folder name, so I don't know where POP Peeper got that from unless it was specified. Go to Tools / Options / Storage and set the "data path" to data to create the portable data folder. You may also want to make sure that the "Ini Location" is using the one yo...

Re: v4.0.1 will not save updated passwords

Glad you got it working! It sounds like what happened is that the v4 upgrade process successfully copied the file from "Program Files" into the "AppData" folder, but it didn't delete the original file (for whatever reason). POP Peeper always looks for the ini file in the local fo...

Re: v4.0.1 will not save updated passwords

When you right-click on a folder, the "read-only" state is always in the indeterminate state (neither enabled nor disabled), even if the containing files/folders are all either enabled or disabled. However, the problem is that the ini file is in the "Program Files" folder which i...

Re: v4.0.1 will not save updated passwords

It sounds like the ini file that stores your settings (and accounts' passwords) may not be saving; for example, the file may be set to read-only. Please let us know the location of your ini file: 1) From POP Peeper's main menu, select Tools / Options 2) Select the "Storage" page 3) Select ...

There is simple wildcard and I've created several substitutions that perform a similar function, so you can probably already do what you want. (bug found: make sure you read this entire post before starting) For example, let's say you get an email from "Amazon" and the subject contains the...
