Re: Receiving notification of e-mail

Are you saying that the messages are not available to your email client because PP is retrieving them? For Imap access, that shouldn't be a problem even if you're accessing the entire message. I presume you have your email client set to retrieve via pop3? I have a configuration setup where I have PP...

Re: OpenSSL 0.9.8j

The issue is actually with certain algorithms that have patents. I cannot say with any authority that these algorithms are more or less secure than the others. It's possible that they're not any more secure, or it's possible that they're lower in the priority, or it's even possible that the server d...

Re: OpenSSL 0.9.8j

OK, I found the problem. The default build expects certain DLLs on the computer that most non-developers wouldn't have. I have rebuilt the DLLs to avoid this and these should work for you guys: download here.

Try these and let me know how it goes.

Welcome to the PP forums, baltazar.

I'm sure you already got my email regarding this, but for anyone else this may interest: the PPTweaker utility (and other optional downloads) are not designed to be translated.

Re: Latest PPLC?

Thanks for reminding me. The link for PPLC v3.4 is now available in the announcement topic:
http://www.poppeeper.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10

There have only been a few additions, so I do not consider this an urgent update.

Re: OpenSSL 0.9.8j

hmmm... it works for all my accounts (2 different servers). I also tested with gmail and it works. Do either of you have a gmail account (or another free server that I can test with) to compare? And are your affected accounts set to use SSL or TLS?

Re: OpenSSL 0.9.8j

Usually, these security bulletins are for servers running OpenSsl, but in this case, it is a recommended update for clients. So what I've done is made a test zip that has the latest build and can be downloaded here . This will appear as version 0.9.8.10 in POP Peeper's Help/About window, to make sur...

See this faq for accessing GMail for Domains accounts in POP Peeper: http://www.poppeeper.com/faq.php?q=GMail_Domains Although, it seems to use a different interface than typical gmail-hosted email domains and I can't guarantee that it will work. It's also possible that you can use pop3 and imap acc...

Security risk in Excite/BlueTie

I came across a potential security hole while working on Excite this weekend. Simply logging out of the account is not enough to log you out. Here's the step-by-step: 1) Sign into excite at email.excite.com and tick the option to remember 2) Press "Logout" in the upper-right and it takes y...

For the record, I just added gmx.com as a recognized email provider, so the correct information will be supplied by default (full email for login, pop.gmx.com, etc). It will also default to using imap. This will be in v3.3.
