Re: Hotmail NotAuthenticatedServiceError
I've received some email reporting issues with Hotmail, too, for both webmail and imap. My primary hotmail account which remains in IDLE hasn't had any problems, though I did try disconnecting and reconnecting about 30 minutes ago with no problem; don't think I'd be so lucky to try it again as other...

Re: From field can't handle commas
Ok. The problem originates on Yahoo's end. I sent a test message to 2 of my Yahoo accounts (one that uses the basic interface, the other uses the full interface). I included a comma-infused name in the "from" and the two "to" names. This is what the message looks like when I view...

Re: From field can't handle commas
We do need to know the service that you're receiving the problematic emails on -- I ran a quick test using the standard format (ie. pop3/imap) and there doesn't seem to be a problem.

Re: "Send To" Address Setting
lakrsrool pretty much summed it up. One way to think of it: the .eml format is exactly the same format in which email is transmitted via servers and clients. So any email client should be capable of opening the .eml format. That being said, I don't know if this is still the case, but Outlook is one ...

Re: Recently PP started randomly crashing in background
Apesbrain -- I don't think lakrsrool was leading you to change the server types, just asking for clarification. In fact, IMAP is generally recommended over WebMail (especially for Gmail). But, since you've already changed it, why don't you just leave it for now and see if that affects the random han...

Re: see antispam score for junk files
I don't remember what's all in the video, but there are many ways to view the antijunk score for a message: 1) When you open the message, there's a banner at the top that shows you the score 2) Right-click on the message in the message list and select AntiJunk -> Show evaluation 3) Add the "jun...

Re: "Send To" Address Setting
To access the Sent folder in Explorer, you can also select an account and then, from the main menu, select View / Explore -> Sent. You would need to check both the original account the message was in and -- in case the account was changed -- the account you unexpectedly received the message in. In t...

Yes, the -11 is new as of this morning and was recently fixed. IMAP really is a cure-all, though.

Re: Recently PP started randomly crashing in background
The Yahoo error has been fixed, see: http://www.esumsoft.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6686 As for the crash/hang -- a point of clarification: the "checking for mail" icon is usually animated; are the eyes moving back and forth or are they stuck in a single frame of animation? Have yo...

One more question to add to that list, which is geared more toward a specific reason why PP may be crashing: - On the Accounts list, in the whitespace *below* your last account, right-click and select "Server info (all)" --> if you don't see this option, from the main menu, select Tools / ...

Re: Reply and sent mail
Just to throw in my 2 cents: In general, using "send later" is not recommended. Most email clients do have the concepts of "send later" and the "outbox" but for most people, the only time the outbox is even noticed is if a message was not sent; e.g. an error occurred or...

Here is what you've stated you have, please review each option to confirm: Edit account -- - server type = Imap - (Do you just have one account?) - Do you see the "advanced" page? If so, select it and make sure that the "retrieval option" is set to "default" Main menu: ...

You must have specified Thunderbird for that one account. Edit the account, select the "Advanced" page and you can reset the email client -- set it blank to use the email client you specified in the main Options.

Re: Can't login - outlook / hotmail sending out new terms of service
Protocol -- you're using IMAP which is not affected by the original post -- the new TOS screen doesn't affect IMAP. Unfortunately, Hotmail's imap server is known to be unreliable. However, there is a way to mitigate the problem. 1) Make sure that the Hotmail account(s) are set to use IDLE (edit the ...

WebMail v4.2.5 fixes the Yahoo -11 error. You can either wait for POP Peeper to auto-update (usually within 24 hours) or to update immediately: From POP Peeper's main menu, select Help / About Make sure that these 2 options are enabled: - Automatically check for updates - Auto-update Webmail plugin ...

Is it possible that you changed the account while the reply window was open? Do you have a specific example where this happened? By default, POP Peeper saves all messages that you've sent, so we can examine the original message and see what's happening -- whether it was sent from a different account...

1- When I reply to an email the "attachment" button is dimmed so I must compose a new message if I want to send an attachment. Attachments cannot be included when using WebMail; only when sending with SMTP. Some WebMail accounts can use IMAP/SMTP, but others cannot. For example, Gmail, Ya...

Actually, the proper method to avoid Yahoo's whinging is to enable OAuth2 -- that's the "more secure" method that they're alluding to. Just edit your account and press the "OAuth2" button and follow the instructions. It's available for IMAP with Yahoo/Gmail/Hotmail.
