Yes, I agree it's very likely a gmail issue and will probably go away on its own eventually. I would highly recommend using "Preview" for IMAP as it would avoid this issue; although you might still get the error if the message contained attachments that you wanted to retrieve. There might ...

I haven't seen this personally. But there are some options you should take a look at: 1) Edit your gmail account(s) and make sure that you're using "IMAP" and that the "idle/push" option is enabled on the bottom-right. This setting can greatly improve response time of these types...

Yes, as mjs stated, these are unicode characters; and they appear as question marks because POP Peeper v5 doesn't support them (it will be supported in v6). Yes, that should do it. Make sure that POP Peeper is not running when you move the appdata files. It's not entirely necessary to re-install POP Peeper, you can just go to C:\Program Files (x86)\POP Peeper\ and run POPPeeper.exe (after moving the appdata files). Voice to text? Do you mean for composing email?

If so... I just tested Windows dictation (WinKey+H). It tells me that this app (PP) doesn't support all its features, but it works for what I said, so if there's a compelling reason/feature you can give me why this would be beneficial, let me know.

Another advantage of idle is that, because PP remains connected to the server, other actions are more efficient and other actions can be done immediately. e.g. it's noticeably faster if you need to retrieve a message on-demand; marking a message as read on the server is done immediately, etc.

Make sure that the account isn't disabled -- edit the account and refer to the "enabled" checkbox on the bottom-left of the 'General' page. If you've intentionally disabled it, then you need to right-click on the account and select "check mail" to force it to check/delete.

Have you had any further crashes since disabling IDLE?
