Re: v4.4.2 awefully slow

lakrsrool, tks for jumping in. many of your questions make sense, but might now not really be needed: i have installed an older version (4.3) on my wifes latop, all the very same settings and accounts, and the difference is more than obvious - minutes, not seconds. - 1. Did you try rebooting ... hah...

v4.4.2 awefully slow

jeff, just updated to the latest version, and all works, even the often problem-causing YAHOO accounts. but but but: CHECK MAIL all accounts (on a really fast internet line) has become awefully slow, the counting down mssg at the bottom '' <account> PROCESSING DATA '' stays forever. what used to be ...

Re: SAVING mssgs locally

tks for the super detailed explanation! where my thinking was wrong: i thought the original mssgs were also in .EML format, somewhere. looking at it some more, they are not. they are in a .DB database, and only when archived do they appear as .EML files. from then on it should be simple. am i now co...

Re: SAVING mssgs locally

jeff, i have to apologize, when i wrote my post i was too nervous and upset about possibly lost mssgs - years of them. thats why maybe i was not clear of what i needed. yes, the archive function i knew, and have used it. technically all mssgs are there. what i had actually in mind, and had wanted to...

SAVING mssgs locally

following problem (again): have close to 1000 mssg of a particular account in PopPeeper. due to some mistake yet to find out why, they were ALL but 3 erased on the server of the provider. i am aware PP is not supposed to be a storage container, but ... how can i save those mssgs out of PP onto my ha...

Re: Make inbox searchable

>> Bottom line an inbox search feature would sure be nice i am not a selfish person, and i am glad to see i am not alone, but i surely second and support that. actually, it is the only really important feature that i find missing in PP. and since jeff had put an ''(myself included)'' in his answer,...

Re: Delete msgs popup: Include # to be deleted?

tks for moving this post - makes more sense here.

jeff, yes, naturally only for 1+ mssgs. but pls keep in mind, the DELETING was only
an example - there are other places where that # indication is equally useful.

greets - henry

Delete msgs popup: Include # to be deleted?

jeff, probably wrong heading to post this, but another small suggestion: when that popup shows up asking for verification of something ((like: DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DELETE THESE MESSAGES ? )), how about inserting the number of messages affected? that would indicate possible mistakes much easier. suc...

Re: ARCHIVE useless?

tks jeff. i assume most people use PopPeeper only as a notification and a backup to their normal email program, client or online mail - fine. but if you have several thousand emails in it, using it on an extended trip where little else is available, and THEN have to rely on a backup that is immensel...

ARCHIVE useless?

have i missed something, or is there simply something that i dont know about? for me the archive possibility is quite important - i had to use it on wrongly deleted mssgs already. (( deleted in the actual account - but still present in poppeeper )). but but but: when creating archives, it does not u...
