Re: See only the last X messages

It still downloads them, it just hides them. If the messages have already been read (on the server) when PP sees them for the first time, then only the header is retrieved, assuming the following is enabled (which is the default): main menu: Tools / Options; Message Retrieval: "webmail/imap: do...

Re: See only the last X messages

It's not a per-account setting, but there is a per-account setting that may work as an alternative. You'll need to enable Advanced Options: main menu: Tools / Options; General Then, edit the account and select the "Advanced" page. There is an option: "Hide messages from *all accounts*...

Re: POP PEPEPER eating almost 2 GB ram

This is a known issue and beyond the amount of RAM it consumes, the more serious problem is that you get in danger of POP Peeper crashing (and possibly before PP fully loads, which causes even more problems to fix it). The recommendation is that you move old messages out of the inbox into another fo...

Ok, FastSpring got back to me again and they did find an issue. Hopefully it should be working now.

Re: ORDERING PAGE PROBLEM

Thanks for letting us know. I'm not able to duplicate the problem. At what point does the error occur?

The ip address you mentioned resolves to an amazon IP. I believe that FastSpring does utilize their services, so I'll let them know that there's a potential problem.

Re: SEARCH FUNCTION - POP PEEPER PRO

Also, at the bottom of the page in lakrsrool's first link is a comparison table that shows what's in Pro. And I just happened to update it a couple of days ago with new features that were added in the last couple of versions.

Sorry for the late reply -- it's been updated now. I think it's safe to say I've never seen anyone use that combination of color before ;)

Re: Yahoo may block third-party mail applications

I forgot to mention -- I found your post in the blog and restored it. It was placed in trash and not in the moderation queue. I use a blacklist to weed out the spam and I suspect that it was your name that caused a false-positive. Although, the image you linked to is 404...

Re: Yahoo may block third-party mail applications

As you've already discovered, enabling OAuth2 is the way to go. Following in Gmail's footsteps, they are forcing it on accounts. I use(d) Yahoo Messenger myself since the early 2000's. ummm... yeah, not much to say that hasn't already been said by literally every other YM user: https://forums.yahoo....

Re: Corrupted file, third time in a month

The next time it happens, could you make a copy of the ini file that is detected as corrupt? 1) Right now, while you're able to use POP Peeper, make sure you know where the ini file is stored: main menu: Tools / Options / Storage; Ini location I'd suggest accessing it now and making a note of it so ...

Re: View Mail Pro Nag Screen?

It's not quite either a nag screen or a bug. What's happening is that: a) POP Peeper isn't intended to be used as an internal browser, but it happens sometimes b) When you type in the webbrowser, it can still activate shortcuts. There are shortcuts assigned to the letters 'J' and 'L' (mark Junk and ...

Re: Issue with one Yahoo account

How long have you had the error? ie. as long as you've had the account in POP Peeper or did it just start recently? Unfortunately, this: "[SERVERBUG] SELECT Server error - Please try again later" comes from the server and tells us that there's a problem with your account that POP Peeper li...

Re: POP Peeper 4.3?

Ah... There was an issue with beta 3 and so I temporarily disabled the update notification. But if you had already received the notification and PP hadn't gotten the latest check, you'd be stuck in limbo. Solution: On the Help / About page: press "check version" - (you'll see "latest&...

Re: Detect Yahoo request for new password + mobile number?

Yeah, those security type pages are kind of a problem. However, I feel that it's not in everybody's best interest since the user may never see it if PP always dismisses it (ie. by PP dismissing it, it may dismiss it for your webbrowser, too). I realize it can be a pain, especially for users who don'...

Re: get email when account box not checked

To add to what lakrsrool said, if an account is set to use idle: 1) Checking the account will engage the idle connection 2) Disabling the account will not disconnect the idle connection So, if you plan on disabling an account, you should disable the idle option, too. I don't like the first "rul...

Re: Reply does not contain a valid address

I'm not sure why PP isn't auto-updating, but you definitely should be using v4.2.2, as the last 2 updates were for Yahoo and this was one of the issues that was fixed. Once you update to v4.2.2 , you will need to re-download any existing messages that you want to fix (File / Re-download message). If...

Re: View and HTML Zoom

Beta 2 is available which hopefully fixes the problem a few people have reported about HTML Zoom being a little wonky. It turned out that images in the HTML were getting scaled weirdly. For example, I had sent myself a 100x100 image to test various states and with 150% dpi at 100% html zoom, the ima...

Re: No longer able to us "Attach"

I'm not sure which settings you'd like a screenshot of? However, in general, it's not necessary because POP Peeper will automatically change the settings when you change the "server type." For incoming/receiving mail, the available protocols for Hotmail are: - Imap - Pop3 - Hotmail/Outlook...
