Free Email Services News - October 2006

Hotmail Live has another new interface. Hotmail interface seems to change every month. These changes has not affected POP Peeper access to Hotmail. Gmail is on its 3rd year of beta. Account signup is still by invitation, though some countries (Japan) now have direct signup. Gmail has a calendar now....

Since you are sending from Thunderbird, Pop Peeper has nothing to do with the error. If the address is correct, try disabling AVG antivirus check of email on outgoing mail.

Welcome to the PP forums. Are you sending from Pop Peeper or from Thunderbird? If from Pop Peeper, hihghlight account and select Edit > Send tab. Make sure your server name, port number, and authentication are correct.

If you just created the account, it takes from a few hours to a day for POP3 access to work.

Freepops only provides a gateway between AOL and your email client for POP3 receiving access. It does not provide SMTP access for sending.

You should use Pop Peeper newest version 3.0 RC, as it allows you IMAP access. Since AOL allows you IMAP access, you can use PP with AOL.

Loftmail and Pilumail also have IMAP and POP3 access, but no support when things go wrong.

Safemail will not work with Pop Peeper now because Safemail requires usage of SSL, and SSL IMAP is not available yet. Bluebottle has disabled IMAP for free users.
