Hello!
I've tuned fine my MSN account,in PP,exactely as indicated in this site.
But it doesn't work:i can't connect to my account.
The error is:

This module is the good one I downloaded just now.
Can I have a help?
Thank you

Do you have the SSL plugin installed? Here's how to check:
On the main menu, select Tools / Plugins
Look for SSL in the list and make sure it's enabled (ticked)

If it's listed, then it's possible that the error is occurring because you're behind a firewall that blocks SSL-based connections. Hotmail's POP3 service requires SSL, so instead of using POP3 to access your account, you should use Webmail instead: Edit the account and change the "Server Type" to "Hotmail/MSN/Live"

eric1000 , welcome to the POP Peeper Forums ! Please reply .

1- did you download the latest SSL from the PP site SSL page (click here) ?

2- did you enable this plugin ? ( click Tools , Plugins , mark the SSL line , Close , restart PP )

3- if no result , or in any PP error msg : click the PP-error-yellow-button , click Copy , follow the instruction to report .

Webmail: 3.8.0.8
SSL: 1.0.0.5
IMAP: 3.8.1.0

eric10000 , thanks for reporting , please reply .

1- so I am assuming you have the SSL line marked (on Tools , Plugins) .

2- try to redefine the port , or define a new PP account (also have a look on the Hints) ,
according to the tutorial : Windows Live Hotmail / MSN {create a POP3 account
• (PP + IMAP + Send)=381 Web=3808 PPT=38 SSL=1005 Voice=3 Chime=3 Skin=36 PP-Add-on-Pack=3 • XPproSP3 • Fx=1301 Opera=1162 [IE=80] • Online-Armor=5501616 • CPU=1.2GHz • RAM=2.5GB •

Regarding the error you mentioned (when you had set the Server Type = Hotmail):
"Erreur inconnue : Essayez plus tard. (-11)"

This error can be resolved by following the advice here:
http://www.poppeeper.com/knownissues.php

If you would prefer to use POP3 -- are you at home or at work? Many workplace firewalls block SSL-based email connections.

Hello.
I still have the same problem with my msn.com mail address.
Username and password are correct: I go into my inbox with them, directly on the Internet.
I chose Hotmail / Outlook as a server.
And I get "unknown error".
What to do?
Best regards

Thank you for posting the Error Overview information.

There was a Webmail plugin update recently that was for a similar error as this but you currently have that update that Jeff had referenced in the topic I've linked HERE.

I am not getting this error, however if this error remains persistent in your case you have the option of either waiting for Jeff to look into this to see see if another Webmail plugin update is needed (which I would recommend for now) or change (edit account) your MSN account protocols to IMAP (if you do this it is recommended to use both OAuth2 and enable Push/IDLE for MSN accounts).

I've updated Hotmail so that it will report "invalid login/password" error instead of a generic error. This fix will go into the next release as needed (ie. webmail v4.4.13), but won't be released specifically for this fix.
