Hide tabs and 2nd toolbar?

Post by Reggorf »

Is there a way to hide not only the main toolbar, but also the tabs above the message list, and maybe even the message list toolbar?

Based on what appears to be what you are requesting - I'm not aware of a way of displaying precisely what it is you want.

That said, from the main menu by going to "Tools" > "PPtweaker..." > "Interface" there are ways to modify the way the main POP Peeper window is rendered. So take a look on that "Interface" page to see if there's anything that might be to your liking.

By going to "Help" > "Contents..." and typing "interface" into the "Search" tab then select "List Topics" or press enter - you may get more information regarding other ways to modify the main POP Peeper Interface as well.

Other members of the Esumsoft Team may have additional suggestions or comments as well.

Thanks.

I think there's indeed an option under PpTweaker\Interface.

In addendum: You can remove the toolbar by right-clicking on it and selecting the appropriate option. The same options are under the 'View' menu to get the Toolbar back. You cannot remove the tabs, but the in-between controls can be removed via PPtweaker as mentioned if you have a Pro or PlusPack license.

Thanks.

Could improve findability if PpTweaker was merged into Options, since, well, they're both options. :)

If the idea is to minimize visual overload, there could be a checkbox in the fixed bottom part of the Options window to show/hide advanced options.

In my view the "Options" pages manage the more fundamental (basic) operational in nature options as opposed to the "PPtweaker" pages that deal with the more specialized interface modifiers applicable to POP Peeper. Also if combined as you suggest, keep in mind, optionally hiding the "PPtweaker" options (within the "Options" Interface) to maintain simplicity would only be the case while hidden otherwise once not hidden via a "checkbox" of some sort the concern regarding "visual overload" (you mentioned) would at that point be potentially present. With this in mind, it makes more sense to me to keep the optional "PPtweaker" page functions that are more in line with the more minor "tweaking" details of POP Peeper separate from the more fundamental (basic) operational "Options" page functions of POP Peeper as is the case now. The two groups of functionalities, "Options"/"PPtweaker", are already close in proximity after all as they are positioned on the menu adjacent to each other. :-k

You may have noticed that POP Peeper provides users with a plethora of options (as apps go) - hence this complexity does require a high level of compartmentalization of the myriad of available options in order to keep things as easy as possible to use.

Just my 2-cents (FWIW).... 8)

It's the same idea as enabling "advanced mode" for advanced users. People who would enable it would want them accessible. Others won't bother. And one Options window is quicker to navigate.

A way to improve the organization of the merged settings, perhaps, could be to turn the Options navigator (the list on the left) into a treeview, with a minimal 2-level hierarchy.
