Error when i launch email client
Error when i launch email client
Hello,
When I start my email client, I get an error.
If Pop Peeper is set to boot as administrator, it does not start automatically when Windows starts, uncheck the option if I start as administrator executable Pop Peeper is Outlook 2013 that displays me an error message when I click on its icon in the interface Pop Peeper.
I found the mistake is that Outlook 2013 is configured to start as an administrator, the problem is that I can not uncheck.
The "Compatibility" tab no longer appears in the properties of Outlook 2013.
Thanks

Hi Brisco74 and welcome to the PP Forums!
Given the particular nature of the problem you are reporting, I have contacted our Forum Administrator/Product Developer, Jeff, and asked him to review your topic here, as he may need additional information from you to resolve the issue.
In the interim, please post back with the following information:
1. Which version of PopPeeper are you using?
(On the PP main interface, click on [HELP] > About PopPeeper...)
2. Please post back with the complete text of any error message(s) you are receiving in the PopPeeper program.
(To do this - look for a yellow icon with a black "!" mark on the lower right corner of the PP main interface. Click on it to display any error message(s). Copy and paste the error message text in your next reply)
* - I edited your post in order to show the actual link to the error message you mentioned.
Thank you & best regards,

Hello,
1. The Pop Peeper version is 4.0.1 Pro with Pop Peeper PlusPack.
2. This is not an error in pop peeper, but linked to the launch of Outlook 2013 by clicking on the icon of it in the interface pop peeper

Re: Error when i launch email client
If running Outlook as a non-admin is an acceptable solution, I found what looks like a way to fix that problem:

Here's the relevant quote from that page:

I just encountered this problem with a pesky program and realize it's been a while but here's my two cents as I found this thread looking to fix this problem.
Action - I downgraded a user from Admin to Standard.
Symptom - in compatibility mode "run as admin" was still checked for the standard user despite me unchecking it as admin via any route I could think of. Standard user could not use programs.
Fix - Log in as admin. Fully disable UAC. Reboot. Log in as Standard User. Edit compatibility check box as needed. Log out as standard user. Log in as Admin. Enable UAC again. Reboot. Log in as standard user. Check box should be gone.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I tested both solutions you specified, but the problem is always the same, I do not have the tab "compatibility" in the properties of the executable outlook for 2013, I can not uncheck "run as administrator.

Since your OS is WIN8.1 and using Outlook 2013 refer to this link: How to change Compatability Settings in Office 2013 / Windows 8.1
Check out the following steps referenced in the link above and see if this might help (this link mentions how there is no "Compatibility" tab in Office 2013 Properties suggesting these steps to resolve settings):

1. Open the start screen.
2. Start typing the application name.
3. The result will be displayed below the search box.
4. Now right click on the application and click on Open File Location.
5. Again where it opens --> Right Click on application icon --> Troubleshoot Compatibility --> Let the phase of detecting issues complete --> It would give you two options --> Select the second option --> Troubleshoot Program.
6. Here you would see several options listed. Uncheck the option ‘This Program Requires Additional Permissions’.
7. Now save the settings and verify the results.

Hello,
Thank laksrool,
I tried your solution, but it is similar.
Furthermore the option that had to be checked was not the only, as shown in my screenshot.
I will try to reinstall Outlook 2013.

Re: Error when i launch email client
Hello,

I solved my problem.
Having purchased Office 2013, yesterday I got an email to test Office 2016 release.
I installed it this morning and I just tested, Pop Peeper outlook starts well when I click on the icon of it.
In addition, I found the "Compatibility" tab.
