Hi pop_pepper,

Since the issue you're reporting involves a possibly-corrupted settings file, please post back with the following:

1. Which Operating System are you using?

2. Does the "corrupt settings" message you are seeing resemble the one below?
Example of corrupted file alert.PNG
Example of corrupted file alert.PNG (46.77 KiB) Viewed 2216 times
(If yours is different in any way, please include a screenshot of it in your next post).

3. Lastly, open PP, click on [TOOLS] > [OPTIONS] > Storage.

At the top right part of the window, copy the file path shown in the box beside ".ini location", and paste that info in your next reply.
(Alternatively, you can take a screenshot of the window and post the image instead).

* (Instructions for taking/posting a screenshot can be found at this link): How to take a screenshot and attach/insert it into your post.

This will help us better determine what the issue is and a resolution.

Thank you and best regards.

The next time it happens, could you make a copy of the ini file that is detected as corrupt?

1) Right now, while you're able to use POP Peeper, make sure you know where the ini file is stored:
main menu: Tools / Options / Storage; Ini location
I'd suggest accessing it now and making a note of it so that you can do it again later without being able to access the location from PP

2) The next time it happens and you get the "corrupt" message -- don't press anything! Go to the location from step #1 and make a copy of the file.

3) You can then continue as normal with PP

Some questions, and I'll duplicate Pete's questions here, too:
1) What Windows OS?
2) What is your PP ini location?
3) How often does it happen? e.g. several times a week, once a week, once a month, etc.
4) Do you frequently have any issues with your computer? e.g. BSOD, random crashes, random restarts, unexpected power failures, etc.
