Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
To clarify, when you say "nothing is happening" --- are you saying that when you click on "Message source" in the view-message window as illustrated below in the screen-shot you do not get any window at all displaying the Message Source (Full Headers) of an Email?
Or are you referring to something else? And if so please explain in more detail.
What specifically happens in your case? (Does the window display but is blank?)Or are you referring to something else? And if so please explain in more detail.

It’s this menu entry. No new window is showing.

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
Okay so when you click on "Message source" no new window displays at all....
Please go one by one and answer each of the following specific questions enumerated below (please number each corresponding answer to avoid confusion):
1) Have you been able to see the "Message source" in the past?
2) You do not have any other problems with POP Peeper?
3) Have you made any changes of any kind involving POP Peeper since the time the "Message source" has failed to display the new window?
4) What version of POP Peeper are you using (in "Help" > "About POP Peeper....")?
5) Also while in the "About POP Peeper.." window -- what is displayed in the "CRC" column for the POP Peeper module (top of the list in the module window, is it "pass" or something else that you see in that "CRC" column.)?
6) What Operating System do you have?
Thanks for the additional information.

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
Thank you lian for the information.
I should have asked this before:
1) What email accounts are you using in POP Peeper (Outlook.com/Yahoo/Gmail etc.)?
2) Do you have this problem with all of your accounts? (if not with all of them which accounts have this problem?)
3) What protocol are you using in POP Peeper for these accounts (Server type = IMAP, POP3, Webmail)?
Thanks again.

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
The following performs a similar function, try it and see if it works:
- View a message in POP Peeper
- From the menu, select File / Save message as
- When you supply the filename, tack on a .txt to the end of it
- Open the file you saved, it should open in your default .txt program (e.g. notepad)
Note: This is not intended as a solution, but as a means to get more information about the problem.
Also, open your temporary folder, e.g.
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Temp\
or use %temp% (type that into the Windows Explorer address bar or the Windows Run prompt)
and let us know how many files are in there

1) What email accounts are you using in POP Peeper (Outlook.com/Yahoo/Gmail etc.)
My provider (Free - it’s the name of the provider), my webhosting (email related to my domain).
2) Do you have this problem with all of your accounts? (if not with all of them which accounts have this problem?)
With the two.
3) What protocol are you using in POP Peeper for these accounts (Server type = IMAP, POP3, Webmail)?
Pop3 for the first one, IMAP for the second.

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
hm, the number of files in your temp folder doesn't match the criteria I was expecting...
Do you have any problems with viewing HTML messages? This also uses the temp folder, which is why I'm asking.

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
No problem with HTML. The source code is shown in a txt file ?

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
Yes, POP Peeper simply saves a text file in the temp folder and then instructs Windows to open that text file. Since your temp folder appears ok and your txt protocol handler seems ok (I use notepad++ myself, so it's not a problem with that), I'm not really sure what the problem could be.
One other test: from the main message list, right-click on a message and select View -> View source

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
I tried to desactivate my antivirus but it did not the trick. Same problem when rightclicking in the list.

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
Ok, one last idea:
- Open your temp folder (you can type %temp% into the windows run prompt to easily access it)
- Sort the list by "date modified" so that the most recent files appear at the top
- Use the "view source" in POP Peeper
- Do you see any new file appear in the temp folder?
btw, for unrelated reasons, POP Peeper v4.5 slightly changes the way that it handles the temporary folder (that's actually why I asked you how many files were in the temp folder, because it's been recently discovered that having too many temp files can cause this type of issue). I'm not sure if this change will affect you or not, but there's another feature that may. So, if you'd care to email me (support at esumsoft dot com), I'll provide further instructions on this.

Re: Email source: Unable to visualize it
Sorry for the delay. I tested the eventual modification in temp directory and nothing is created when I try to look at source content of a mail.

Re: [solved]Email source: Unable to visualize it
OK, I found the reason : .txt files could not be opened as I uninstalled the program I used by default for this. I did not notice the problem as my file browser (XYplorer) was configured to open .txt files with another program.

Re: [solved]Email source: Unable to visualize it
Ah, glad you found it. And thanks for letting us know what the problem was. I'll put that into my notes to investigate further.

Nothing you can do : it’s entirely my fault.

Re: [solved]Email source: Unable to visualize it
Well, POP Peeper might be able to throw up an error (even if it's just a low-level system error number/code), but it's one of those cases where you don't expect something to go wrong, so...

Re: [solved]Email source: Unable to visualize it
You are right. there may be an error message. I discovered the problem when installing a software and the readme.txt could not be opened automatically.
