I just use (username redacted) where PP asks for my logon name. That setting has been there since AOL took over all the verizon accts.
I just tried Account X(at)verizon.net and np getting email either

Ah, but does it work with pop.verizon.net? 
btw, the reason the moderators have been modifying your posts is that it's not a good idea to include email addresses in your posts as they can be harvested by spambots since this is a publicly viewable forum.
