Hotmail/Outlook Delete Problem

Post by Philidor »

This problem has continued for about a week.
I get a -31 error, try again later, every time POP Peeper runs.
New emails are received, but deletes don't happen.
I can go into Hotmail (my email address), linking to Outlook, and enter the account with no problem. I can delete the messages easily.
Please advise.

Thank you for providing the "Error Information".

Based on the error it appears you be experiencing issues retrieving the body of a message.

That said, you are using "Webmail" -- that is your "Server type" is set to "Hotmail/Outlook" for this account and your "Webmail" plugin is current.

What you can do is change the "Server type" to the recommend "IMAP" protocol which will likely resolve the error.

You do this by doing the following:
1) Edit your MSN (Microsoft) account.
2) Change the "Server type" from "Hotmail/Outlook" to "IMAP".
3) Press the "Oauth2" button which will appear to the right of your login name and follow the ensuing instructions (it is also recommended to enable "IDLE/Push" by checking that box in the lower-right area when editing the account).

If your prefer to use "Webmail" or you are unable to use "IMAP" for some reason then you can wait for recommendations from other members of the Esumsoft Team.

I am not having any issues with MSN accounts using "Webmail" myself however (but you could be experiencing transient issues with the MSN ("Webmail") Servers in your area and in that case one way to circumvent this problem would be to switch the accounts connection protocol from "Webmail" to "IMAP").

Worked. Thanks.
By the way, I didn't receive any notifications from the forum. Kept checking back.
I wonder if changing to IMAP will work on that too.

Glad to hear it works Image -- in regards to your other question you can take a look HERE for instructions regarding forum notifications (changing the protocol to "IMAP" is unrelated to forum notifications).
