GSuite will Require OAuth in 7-14 Months

Post by Godiva »

FYI: https://gsuiteupdates.googleblog.com/20 ... rrect.html

Basically gives a timeline for when OAuth will be required for GSuite access. The deadlines are June 15, 2020 & February 15, 2021, depending on if you're already using a Less Secure App (LSA) to access GSuite apps (including GMail). Earlier deadline if you're not already using an LSA, later deadline if you are.

I don't have a gsuite account to be able to test this, but I presume that POP Peeper's OAuth2 support should work with gsuite. The only requirement to make the "Oauth2" button appear in "edit account" is to set the incoming server to imap.gmail.com and the "server type" to imap (re-selecting the server type may be necessary after changing the server address). The 'oauth2' button should appear and you can press it to login.

Since I can't test this myself, I'd appreciate it if you can and let me know if this works or not.
