Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
I've had endless problems with this email link from Singapore below as GMail still isn't blocking it using their recognisable catch words filter. Is there any PP app that can do it ?
I've put a couple of spaces between the words to block it if it tries anything....
Thanks

Hello arcadian,
Just to ensure I'm understanding correctly what you are asking...
The email link you refer to is appearing within the body of some email(s) you are receiving, and you want to block any such emails which contain that particular link?
If this is incorrect, please provide additional information.
Also, are you using POP Peeper's Antijunk feature? (Available in PP Pro).
Thank you & best regards.

I'm receiving it in the inbox. I can include it as a screen pic if you want...
Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
If you have the AntiJunk feature that spc3rd (Pete) mentioned in his post above you can "Blacklist" the email address of the sender to block these messages.

Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
Is there a way of checking that it will definitely remove the spam first rather than finding out afterwards that it won't ?
Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
If you are getting this message from an address that uses either the same address or just the same domain each time then AntiJunk will provide a way for you to consistently block these specific messages (delete them from your In-box if you prefer so that you will not see then in your In-box).

Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
This is all there is about the sender, so I would guess it's an automatically generated message from a bot or something so no reply will ever be forthcoming.

Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
With POP Peeper's AntiJunk feature you would be able to consistently block these messages on the basis of the subject text you have posted (assuming the subject text is consistently the same) or you also have the option to block these specific messages based on the email address you posted. The Sender would not be aware that you are blocking these messages.

Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
If the email address is the same every time, then creating a rule to delete email from that address should work.
Here's the rule snippet:
-----
[Rules]
Delete: sgcarmart.com_Action = 2 11 0 "" "" 0 16777215 ""
Delete: sgcarmart.com_Rule00 = 0 0 1 "+FromAddress" 0 "postmaster@edm.sgcarmart.com"
Delete: sgcarmart.com_Status =
-----
Just copy that (between but not including the -----) and then:
1) PP main menu: Tools / AntiJunk -> Main interface
2) Select the "Rules" page
3) Press the "Add" toolbar button
4) From the menu, select Edit / Paste rule set
5) Save it
To test it, assuming you still have one or more of these messages:
Right-click on the message and select:
AntiJunk -> Re-evaluate message
And the message should be marked for deletion
Also, I should point out that the first part of this (creating the rule) would be MUCH easier using POP Peeper v5's Rule Wizard

Hi Jeff
Have you a link to POP Peeper v5's Rule Wizard as I'd like to try that first....
Still just as useless as ever with all the techie stuff

Ok I think I follow will have a go...
Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
Information for how Pro licensees can access the v5 beta are available here:
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7406
If you already had v5.0, then I would have suggested the Rule Wizard in the first place (since you didn't post in the beta forum, I assumed you don't); and I'm not suggesting that you switch to the beta simply to get the Rule Wizard. So: if you want to try the v5 beta, that's great! but don't switch to the beta simply because I made a side-comment suggesting the rule wizard would be easier

Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
Sorry! It helps if I provide accurate instructions
That should have been:
main menu: Tools / AntiJunk -> Main interface

Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
It would also help if I knew if I've purchased PP something or not !
Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
Yes, I had mentioned that in my previous post before realizing I made a mistake in my instructions and removed it in the edit; but I had looked up your forum email address and it does not have a license associated with it. There is a 20% coupon available in the current Message of the Day (main menu: Help / About) if you haven't already purchased Pro.
Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
It's been so long now I can't find my original email and password so can you pm me ? Thanks
Re: Unable to remove a really persistent junk mail email
Been busy lately so had another spam mail from them this morning, so downloaded Pro and have the license key but can't find where to insert it....
