OAuth2,Gmail,POP Peeper v.5,OS Windows XP
Hi I just joined your forum.
On my PC with Windows XP it is not possible with PoP Peeper v.4.5.3. use OAuth2 + Gmail because I.E.8 is considered an obsolete browser by Gmail.
I have read that version 5 will open the browser.
I hope that both the browser that a user has set as their default browser.
Is that so?
In my case, I set a Pale Moon fork as the default browser that Gmail considers not obsolete.
Thank you very much for your reply.
P.S. No problem with OAuth2 and Yahoo Mail.
P.S.1 Will version 5 work on Windows XP?

Welcome to the forum, Sampei.
Yes, the new Oauth2 in v5.0 allows you to use your default webbrowser to login for the Oauth2 authorization.
POP Peeper v5.0 should still work on XP. To confirm, I just did a quick test to make sure that I could Use Oauth2 (using Firefox) and then check the account for messages -- it worked.

Thanks Jeff for the release of version 5.
I managed to enter the Gmail account as you will also notice from the image.
But I have some problems setting the Italian language.
No downloads available.
I use POP Peeper zip:

I don't have this problem in v5 (my window is populated with optional languages) - Please be patient, Jeff will be looking into this further. In the meantime can you post your storage location paths (under "Tools" > "Options" > "Storage" from main menu).

Certainly, but the path is the same as in version 4.5.3 where the e-mail accounts were saved.

I solved it by myself.
I copied all the lines of the Italian language file into notepad.
Then I saved the file as Lang_Italian.plf.
I put it in the folder, restarted PopPeeper.
It is OK:

Re: OAuth2,Gmail,POP Peeper v.5,OS Windows XP
I'm guessing that you may have a software firewall blocking POP Peeper's http access -- that's why the language list is empty.
Re: OAuth2,Gmail,POP Peeper v.5,OS Windows XP
Oooh, on second thought, I believe that WinXP may have a problem with esumsoft.com's SSL certificate (as provided by Let's Encrypt). I have had to make concessions for that issue in other areas, but probably didn't think about the language files.

@Jeff
The problem is not related to the Windows Firewall.
Regarding the certificate, if I can help you find out the problem, I am at your disposal:
P.S. With the previous version of P.P. the languages list was present.

I just fired up XP in my VM and you're right -- it doesn't work in PPv5, but it does work in PPv4. It's possible that I changed it to https in v5 (instead of just http in v4) and that might explain it, but I've added it to my list to look into further.
