As of today we get "one of your acounts gets persistent errors" message from Pop Peeper. It affects 4 out of 6 AOL acounts and 4 out of 6 Yahoo accounts. All accounts are configured as POP (collect only about lines and give notification of new ones, no deletion from the mail servers) with app password NOT OAuth) and worked smoothly that way ever since that method was introduced several years ago, no changes from our side.
Any idea?

AOL and Yahoo suddenly get "consistent errors"
Re: AOL and Yahoo suddenly get "consistent errors"
I was also getting errors with my Yahoo accounts.
I just re-authorized with OAuth 2.0 and they're working fine.

Re: AOL and Yahoo suddenly get "consistent errors"
I was doing a little digging and ended up on this page:
https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN27791.html
The page itself isn't particularly significant, but there is a banner at the top of the page: "We are aware of issues some users are having with logging into Yahoo accounts and are working to fix this as quickly as possible."
Are you still having a problem with this? If so, using Oauth2 is probably the best solution. I have 2 Yahoo and 1 AOL -- all using Oauth2 -- and I haven't had any problems (although I wasn't online yesterday when you reported the problem).

Re: AOL and Yahoo suddenly get "consistent errors"
As of now (using the posted link above) I'm not seeing the Yahoo login issue orange banner at the top of the page (as illustrated in the above posted screen-shot) - so perhaps Yahoo has now resolved the issue.

Confirmed, it's gone. Something in the back of my mind had told me, "screenshot it or they'll think I'm crazy"
