Bad Connection

Post by ADSJD »

I have used POP Peeper Pro for years. I am using version 5.5.1. I have multiple accounts through my own personal domain. I check my accounts regularly with POP Peeper, clean the accounts with MailWasher Pro and finally download them with Outlook. Have been doing this regularly for years. In the last week suddenly all of my accounts will not connect and I get the message "Bad Connection". I have checked all of the settings. I have reset the modem and rebooted multiple times. Outlook and MailWasher Pro still work. I just installed another mail checker and it works using the same settings I have for POP Peeper, although it is not as elegant as POP Peeper. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Since you've already rebooted, I just have one other idea:

If you're using a 3rd party firewall, make sure that it's not blocking POP Peeper

If you still have a problem, contact me (support at esumsoft dot com), and let me know if *all* accounts are a problem or just your personal-domain accounts (or if you simply don't have any other accounts for comparison).

Thank you Jeff, I sent you the email you requested. Considering my current email problems, I can only hope you received it.

I received it and replied to it this morning. I'd recommend emailing me using an email address that you can access in POP Peeper. I assume you can access that email one way or another, but here's a copy of what I wrote in my email so you can provide the necessary info (via email; since this is a specific problem, it's better to address in a non-public forum, besides you having a personal domain that you may not want shared) --
Please do the following so I can get a summary of the problem:

- Press the Yellow '!' button in the statusbar (bottom-right of the main window in POP Peeper)
- Press the "Copy Log" button
- Paste the information into your reply

Again, thank you Jeff, but found the problem and it was with the email provider, not POP Peeper. I still do not know why if only affected POP Peeper, but it has been resolved at their end. It was apparently a firewall thing that popped up.
