It's certainly possible that a bad internet connection could cause *some* of the symptoms you described; or, perhaps more feasible for the reported behavior, something was wrong with the mail server (ie. it reported 7 messages, but when POP Peeper asked for the listing of the emails, it reported none -- this could result in a non-error situation with the results you've described). What still doesn't make sense is that the messages were reported but missing after you exited/restarted POP Peeper -- that's the part that seems illogical to me.

Anyway, we shan't worry about it (too much) as long as it's working :)
