I have recently been getting more spam under an account where I opened some of the spam messages before deleting them.
I am wondering if POP Peeper is processing return receipt requests from the sender.
If so, is there an option to turn this off so that no return receipts are sent.

No, POP Peeper does not return receipts. IF -- and that's a really big IF -- PP ever did handle return receipts, it would default to "ask." However, I have no plans to support them.
