Yes, I CAN login at Excite mail directly with no issues.
It shows logging in, (never does), then says 2 minutes remaining until next check.
Clicking on yellow question mark: Error Overview says: "Excite Error: Try again later (-1001)"

FWIW, Excite email had been giving me the same error as of around 11:30 PM last night and was still giving me the error up until around 8:30 AM this morning PST, but since that time Excite has been free of any errors for the past one plus hour as of 9:50 AM PST. =D>

Have you had any problems since? I don't have an Excite account that I check regularly, but I have manually checked my test account about 20 times since yesterday morning and it's worked every time.

No issues since I reported it working again. Weird that it happened twice and corrected itself.
I would like to get rid of excite, as their web based interface is archaic, but they no longer offer POP.
poppeeper has been a lifesaver to easily check it.

Thanks for the follow up. You guys rock.

Actually the first time was probably due to the changes Excite made that required a WebMail plugin v4.1.1 update that Jeff released on 6-6 which resolved the "-10 error" issue (check HERE and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see this by clicking on "Version History" for the WebMail plugin). The second time was apparently just a temporary error that Excite ultimately cleared up on their end.
