As far as sending email, there's no difference between POP3 and IMAP -- they both use SMTP to send, so I can assure you the problem is not with POP Peeper. Try using BCC to send to a completely different address and see if that address receives the email. My guess is that there's some filter on the server that's doing something with the BCC. Just to confirm, when Pete mentioned checking the "Junk" folders -- did you check the online junk/spam folders? ie. not the AntiJunk filtering in POP Peeper.
As for composing, there's a popup that allows you to set a specific account to use and you must have told it not to display that prompt again. You'll need to reset it to show that prompt again:
- From the main menu, select Tools / Options
- Select the "General" page
- Near the bottom is "reset confirmation prompts" -- you'll need to enable it and this will, of course, reset ALL prompts and then press OK
The next time you compose a message, you should see the prompt I was referring to:
To get the old behavior, and the one you described, you'll want to tick "do not show this prompt again" but NOT "use this account by default..."
3 *months* without internet...? I stare blankly at my monitor with a dumbfounded expression when my internet is out for 3 *minutes*
