View Mail Pro Nag Screen?

Post by sunclad@sunclad.com »

Clipimage.jpg
Windows 10 Home X64 (build 10586)
AVG Anti-virus
Pop Peeper 4.2.0.0. (free version)

Uncertain if this is a nag screen or bug. Maybe someone can offer some insight.

- I obtain mail.
- Mail displays a web page in the internal web engine.
- Web page has a login screen for user and password to go to a message board system.

As I start to type in the user name box a screen pops up stating the PP anti-junk option is not installed and you need to get the pro version. Regardless of which button you click, there is no escape from this. After just a few letters in the login box all interaction stops and you get this pop up. So I now cannot login to the message board displaying the user name and password on my screen.

I then have to launch an external browser for that.

Suggestions?

I'd understand if this was a nag screen to buy the Pro version but do not understand the message about the anti-junk module while viewing a web page and trying to use it to log in to something.

I'm attaching a screen shot of what I see.

Thanks

It's not quite either a nag screen or a bug.

What's happening is that:
a) POP Peeper isn't intended to be used as an internal browser, but it happens sometimes
b) When you type in the webbrowser, it can still activate shortcuts. There are shortcuts assigned to the letters 'J' and 'L' (mark Junk and mark Legitimate, respectively) and so that's why you're getting the popup.

Solution: disable the shortcuts for those letters
1) From POP Peeper's main menu, select Tools / PPtweaker
2) Select the "Shortcuts" page
3) From the "Window" dropdown, select "Message"
4) Select each of the following (you'll need to change the shortcut for both):
- AntiJunk: Mark as Junk
- AntiJunk: Mark as Legit
5) After you select one, press the "Assign" button (it will assign to "none")
6) Select the next one and press "assign"
7) Press OK
