Colour of Notification Icon text changed?

Post by pcbbc »

Just installed the new version (4.3).

In the system tray the colour of the text on the notification icon used for the message count seems to have changed? It used to be white text when on a dark blue square (I have the royal blue configured as the colour for one of my monitored mail boxes) - but it has now changed to black text.
(It's either that or it's transparent text. It's Windows 10 - so my taskbar is the dark colour, so it could be that showing through).

As a result you can not now actually read the number of new mail messages present...
Not a big issue, but it would be nice to have a resolution!

Thanks for all your hard work with this product.

This is a known issue and there are a couple of ways to fix it:

1) Download the patch file which uses a new algorithm to best determine the text color (and, specifically, will use white text for blue [0/0/255] background):
http://www.esumsoft.com/pop-peeper-beta/
- note: this also uses a slightly different font for the tray icon which may also improve legibility.

OR, in POP Peeper v4.3.0.0:
2) Edit the account and change the color to: Red/Green/Blue = 0/0/224. This slightly darker blue will use a white text color.
