POP Peeper Pro v4.4.1 freezing when system is idle

Post by spaceycowboy1 »

Hi Im running Windows 10 and running Pop Peeper Pro v4.4.1 with the plus pack. I love this software as I work in IT support for a small software company and Im not always at my desk but close enough to hear my audio for the voice feature.

My problem Is that say if I go to lunch or have a long meeting, when my PC is idle or is being unused for a long time, when I return I find that pop peeper is frozen. I have to end task on it and then restart it. Once I restart it works fine however the same issue will occur once I leave for a long period once again.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue and is there anything I can do?

Thanks
Dave

Welcome to the forum Dave, to answer your first question; I've never run into this problem with any version of POP Peeper including the current v4.4.1. If my laptop goes to "sleep", POP Peeper has always continued with Mail Checks as soon as the computer "wakes".

As far as what to do, for the "Connection Type" setting in "Tools" > "Options" > "Connection" tab from the main PP interface menu, if you are using the "Assume I'm always on line" setting, try changing the "Connection Type" setting to "Using a permanent connection (Cable, DSL, TI, Lan, etc." and visa versa, if you are using "Using a permanent connection (Cable, DSL, TI, Lan, etc." then try changing to the "Assume I'm always on line" setting to see if switching this setting helps resolve the issue (some computer configurations need to be specifically one or the other of these two settings). One of these two settings will likely fix the problem.

If this doesn't help, what is your "Scheduling" setting "when POP Peeper starts" in "Tools" > "Options" > "Mail Check" tab from the main PP interface menu?

Addendum: By the way, since you are a new forum member there is a sticky in the announcement sub-forum posted by Pete (spc3rd) that serves to introduce new members to many helpful aspects of the Esumsoft Forums that you will undoubtedly find useful "Information for new users and forum members".

[For forum member, garalare]

I have moved your post to its own new topic & re-titled it, as the issue you are reporting is unrelated to the problem being discussed in this topic.
