Unread inbox column # depicts incorrect number of emails.
1 email shown unread when zero emails unread.
Deleted all inbox emails. Zero emails in inbox.
Sent 1 email to account.
1 email shows in column unread.
Deleted the email, so no emails appear in inbox.
1 email shows in column unread.
Can find no means to correct this.
Any help appreciated.

Try going to "Messages" and uncheck "Enable display filters..." (you will see an info box that explains what this does). See if you then find the message that may have not been displayed previously. Be sure and check the "Enable display filters..." again as this is just to be used for checking for messaged that may be "hidden".

What "Server type" are you using? (i.e. Webmail, IMAP, POP3 -- can be found by editing account)
