If you have POP Peeper Pro, there's a rule in POP Peeper that may be causing this. Originally, the rule would hide and mark read any message you sent to yourself, but this was later updated so that messages that you to/cc yourself would not be affected (it would only be affected if you BCC'd yourself). It's possible that you may have the original rule (unless you're actually using BCC for this scenario)
Probably the easiest way to test this is to disable the BCC rule and see if that has an impact (note it will not affect existing messages, so after changing this, just send yourself an email from your phone the same way you would have before):
1) From POP Peeper's main menu, select Tools / AntiJunk -> Main interface
2) Select the "Rules" page on the left
3) Find the "BCC" rule and disable it (uncheck it)
4) Press OK
Send your test message.
