I'm getting these emails from Microsoft that states the following...

If you are receiving this email, you are currently using an email or calendar app that uses a less secure authentication method to connect to your Outlook.com email account. You will need to upgrade your third-party mail and calendar app to a version which supports modern authentication methods.

From my understanding, you have to change your account from "Password" to "Oauth2".
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're not wrong - please refer to this recent announcement "Outlook will require Oauth2 (modern authentication)" posted by Jeff (yesterday) in the forum "Announcements" board (at the top of the forum).
