Freepops only provides a gateway between AOL and your email client for POP3 receiving access. It does not provide SMTP access for sending.

You should use Pop Peeper newest version 3.0 RC, as it allows you IMAP access. Since AOL allows you IMAP access, you can use PP with AOL.

If mielu wants to continue using v2.4 (presumably), you could still setup PP to use AOL's smtp server.

- Edit the account
- Select the "Send Mail" tab
- Change "Reply Options" to 'SMTP'
- SMTP Server: smtp.aol.com

Note, some smtp servers require you to check incoming mail first. I don't know if AOL is like that, but it may cause problems for you since FreePops won't be checking your incoming mail using a traditional method.

But, it is true that PP v3.0 supports Imap and Aol will work without having to use FreePops.

thank you
