POP Peeper v4.2 – DPI fixes

May 31, 2016

DesktopIn the previous article, I mentioned that v4.2 would address some issues with high-DPI settings.  In particular, since Windows 8.1, 125% DPI has the most significant side-effect when applications aren’t compatible with high DPI.  In addition to this, POP Peeper v4.2 includes a new high-resolution icon which will look much nicer when it appears on the desktop (and other places, too).  Here are some side-by-side comparisons between POP Peeper v4.1 and v4.2.  Screenshots were taken in Windows 10 at 125% DPI.  Click the screenshot for a better comparison.

Coming soon: POP Peeper v4.2

May 22, 2016

The next release of POP Peeper was planned to be another maintenance/bugfix release, but two changes have significant impact that will affect a large number of users.

1) OAuth2 support for GMail IMAP/SMTP — this will make adding GMail accounts easier without the hassle of having to change your Google security settings.

2) DPI awareness — If you use 125% DPI (or larger) in Windows 10 or 8.1, POP Peeper v4.2 will address the blurry text issue.

Watch for a beta coming soon.
