Note: GMail's Imap support requires SSL support. PP v3.0 does not include SSL support for Imap, so if you want to use Imap support in your gmail account, you must upgrade to v3.1.

I think the world's largest webmail service supporting IMAP means a death blow to POP (assuming lots of people actually used Gmail's POP support and would now use its IMAP support). I was never a fan of GMail's POP3 support; it had too many issues such as limited number of messages, automatically d...

Ah, the obvious answer -- my old hotmail account still has httpmail support. #-o I got so wrapped up in wanting lycos.co.uk to work, I forgot about hotmail. One of the motivating factors of adding webdav support for PP was so that the non-lycos.com Lycos servers could be supported. I *think* that Ex...

WebDAV and Lycos/Jubii

As I just found out, the European Lycos servers (eg. mail.lycos.co.uk) have been taken over by "jubii." I had a @lycos.co.uk account that has now been converted to a "@jubii.co.uk" account. Ok, fine. The reason for even visiting the site was to do a little research into webdav, w...

mailfreak -- just so you know, the "suggestions" forum is for suggesting new features for POP Peeper, not random suggestions :) I think your point may be a little confusing in this post -- are you saying that you have a "genuine" copy of Windows, but because your version of Windo...

I figured gmail would eventually charge for *something* but a premium storage fee was not what I was expecting. I can't think of too many legitimate reasons someone would need 250gb of email storage, but to each his own. So do you think yahoo and aol knew gmail was headed in this direction and decid...

How strange -- I can't find any way to mark a message as unread either. You can flag messages; that might be the closest substitute.

For AIM accounts -- pop.aim.com doesn't exist, but if you use pop.aol.com it works.

There are no advantages and only disadvantages to accessing Aim\Aol via POP3 in PP, but it can be beneficial to access via POP3 in your client, depending on your needs.

Do attachments sent in an email from a standard email client (OE or Thunderbird, for example) come in as MIM? I don't have access to AOL or their mail reader, so I don't think there's much I can do about it, unfortunately. You may want to let your boss know that there's no reason to stay with their ...

hmm... I knew aol had problems reading base64-encoded text, but this is the first I've heard that it has problems with attachments (attachments also use base64). I just sent an attachment to my AIM account, and the webmail interface is able to decode\display the attachment with no problem. Can you c...

Welcome to the forums, joseph.

I don't know how you're attempting to store emails, but PP is not intended to save your messages long-term.

Well, I'm out of ideas. I did find a thread at EMD that suggests something similar and one of the me-too's was from UK:

Did you have any luck accessing it from another computer/IP?

For the record, I can access gawab but pinging their servers results in a timeout. So that just means that they don't return pings, but doesn't necessarily mean anything else. If you do want another test that may support the blocking theory: go to a dos prompt and type: telnet pop.gawab.com 110 It s...

That is interesting laserra, hope you get the problem resolved.

If you don't hear back from gawab, as JRF implies may be the case, you might try accessing your account from another computer/IP address. And if possible, try moving all your inbox messages to another folder.

ChrisO -- you may want to refer to this thread:
http://www.poppeeper.com/Forums/viewtopic.php?t=1646
since it involves the same service and similar symptoms.

You may very well be onto something regarding the country.

All three of those addresses resolve to the same IP address. Out of curiosity, I tried all 3 addresses in PP and they all worked for me. I mentioned this problem I had in my previous message -- did you confirm that your login name contains your full email address? I'm wondering if this one message a...

Here's gawab's official faq: How can I setup my Gawab.com account to work with POP/SMTP? It's a little sparse (possible problem on their end?), so I'll tell you the only thing it says is that the pop3 server is pop.gawab.com It seems that their help is a little messed up at the moment, I don't use g...
