Re: Activesync (EAS)

I wasn't previously familiar with carddav. Having read just the wiki , my initial reaction is that it may be better suited than ldap and *may* have wider support. I actually don't know what support ldap has, but the carddav wiki mentions many services that support it, most notably GMail; unfortunate...

Re: Activesync (EAS)

This family of protocols comes up for suggestion every few years, going back to the original ActiveSync which has been obsolete for 8 years. So I had to brush up on the technology and here's the short list: ActiveSync/WebDAV: officially discontinued in 2009 (after a couple of years of being unoffici...

Re: weird font display in Windows 10

I tried loading a couple RSS feeds in my Win10 preview and it looks normal to me. Are you using POP Peeper v4.0.x or v4.1 beta? (it may make a difference) Also, here's something else to test: Open the RSS feed using Edge (the new IE), and then click on the "..." on the top-right and select...

Re: Won't mark as read on GoDaddy Webspace email

I've answered your questions regarding the beta and actual read-state stuff via email. Back to this invalid session error -- there must be something blocking POP Peeper's access to esumsoft.com as I also see that it says that the latest webmail version is v4.0.9; which was from March 11. So the prob...

Re: weird font display in Windows 10

The "Select font" option will be disabled if you're viewing the message in HTML. So that could mean that the RSS feed has specified a strange font in the HTML or it could mean that something is bad on your end. What's the URL of the RSS feed and I'll check it out. Send the URL via PM if yo...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

Yeah, that's the problem with memory-related issues -- it's rather inconsistent. In my testing, it would usually crash when trying to download too much data (that was the key in the original problem I mentioned), but there were other times when I would try to do something and it would popup an "...

Re: Won't mark as read on GoDaddy Webspace email

First, to address your original question -- are you accessing your GoDaddy accounts from POP Peeper using POP3 or IMAP? Edit the account and reference the "server type" to confirm. If it's using IMAP, then what you describe doesn't quite jive with how IMAP should work *, even if you're usi...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

Glad to know that that was the problem! It's just by good timing that I suspected that may be the problem -- someone else had a report of crashing a couple weeks ago (although it was a different action that caused it then viewing an HTML message) that we determined to be a memory issue. In fact, in ...

Re: How to delete auto-complete email addresses memory

The addresses used by auto-complete are in POP Peeper's address book. So you can access the address book ("Addresses" on the main toolbar) to edit or delete anything that is incorrect.

Re: weird font display in Windows 10

I'm still waiting for the Win10 upgrade, but I do have the Tech Preview installed and there is no font issue here. You may have changed the font to something that is no longer registered and it's trying to use something weird. To change it back -- When viewing a message, select Options / Select font...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

The amount of data you have stored in PP is almost certainly the problem. When you disabled the plugin (WOT?) you probably just freed up a little memory and bought yourself a little time before you started hitting memory issues again. PP is not very memory-efficient at the moment, and it's something...

Re: Skin notifier doesn't work

From the version history for v4.1: - Fix: Optimization when loading database initially (should improve startup time slightly to significantly, depending on various factors) Of the people that reported slow loading times, they have all reported much faster loading times after installing v4.1. If and ...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

You said that it crashes 1 out of X times, but are the crashes/non-crashes consistent for the same message. For example, if you open a message that does not cause PP to crash, and the close it / re-open it 10 times, will PP be able to open it each time or will it eventually crash? Similarly, for a m...

Re: Import mail from subfolders

Yes, it's possible -- you need the Plus Pack which supports accessing folders for IMAP and select webmail services (including Hotmail, so you're covered whether you're using the Hotmail server type or IMAP).

Re: Skin notifier doesn't work

As mentioned above, v4.1 should make it load much faster. But it's still not going to be "instant" with thousands of messages, so reducing the number of messages will help (removing larger-sized messages will help, too). I would recommend installing the v4.1 beta first, though, as it may b...

Re: HTML rendering in POP Peeper

POP Peeper uses IE; from what I understand, Palemoon uses Firefox. It's pretty safe to assume that Firefox doesn't use any IE technology, but that doesn't mean Palemoon doesn't. The similarities of the problems you're having with the two apps is suspicious, so it could be something like a corrupted ...

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

Do what lakrsrool suggested (logging out/in), preferrably using Internet Explorer if possible. If that doesn't work, email me so I can get some logs from you and see what the problem is.

Re: Windows 10 - PopPeeper v401 Sent Mail

This question:

is very pertinent as I suspect you may have PP using a UAC-protected folder.

Re: Gmail: Username/password error?

valkyrie, besides the questions lakrsrool asked, could you also let us know what errors you get when using both "GMail" and "IMAP" for the server type? Knowing both errors may help to deduce what the problem is.
