Re: OAuth2 Authentication error
No, that's not how that works. Once you enable 2FA on your account and then create an app-password for POP Peeper to use, that password will behave just like a normal password; ie. you don't have to 2FA everytime to check mail on POP Peeper. Also, while it's only alluded to in that article, if you r...

Re: POP Peeper locking up
Here's the current situation: I was able to find the specific problem that you discovered. As suspected, it was a deadlock issue. Then I looked for some other issues in the same area and found some more potential deadlocks (e.g. when using get next/previous unread message). I spent the rest of the d...

Re: POP Peeper locking up
ECourts -- thanks for the detailed diagnosis; it's very much appreciated! Here's what I just tried: I added 10K messages to an account, and while PP was retrieving those messages, I would periodically toggle between which column was being sorted several times and then pause and then repeat. No probl...

Re: PopPeeper ends for no apparent reason
We will continue to hope in future versions, but it gives me that they will never improve 4. "They" is me. And to fix a problem I either have to (a) experience the problem myself or (b) have the cooperation of a user with the problem. If you're willing to troubleshoot, then please email m...

Re: Pop Peeper and Use of Aliases
No, it's in the free version, it's just that the steps have changed slightly since that was first written. I've updated the FAQ:

Re: Not working: Inbox -> Edit Columns
hm, yes, confirmed. I'll be interested to see what caused that -- I can't think of anything off the top of my head unless it had to do with some code that leaked in from v6. I'll take a look at it later and try to report back; right now I'm still in Aeris-crisis mode

Re: Slow drawing of opened emails.-
Can you send me a sample message that's causing this problem (also, do confirm if this problem occurs for every html email or just specific ones); here's how: 1) When viewing the message, select File / save message as 2) Save it to a file 3) Send that file to me via email, as it will contain some PI...

Re: Slow drawing of opened emails.-
- Does this happen for *every* email that you open? If not, have you noticed any patterns? (e.g. only for messages viewed as HTML) - If you view a particular email in full (ie. after waiting for it to fully load), then close the view-message window and then immediately open that same message again, ...

Re: Aeris Calendar v3
I was waiting to hear back an official response from AccuWeather before making my own announcement, but AccuWeather has turned off the data feed that Aeris uses. Ok, I've gone ahead and posted the announcement; I figured I'd just end up repeating myself in this reply anyway. https://www.esumsoft.com...

Re: PopPeeper ends for no apparent reason
PP starts as minimized by default when it's run at startup, but shouldn't when you run it manually. So if you start it manually and it crashes, try to notice if the main window appeared. But we'll table that for now. One thing that you might try doing is to reduce the number of messages. I don't kno...

Re: PopPeeper ends for no apparent reason
Ok, I have a few questions to narrow down what the problem may be: - When exactly does the crash occur? ie. does the main window appear? If so, can you see if it's checking mail (in the status bar)? - Approximately how many messages do you have stored in PP? - How many accounts do you have? - What W...

Re: PP deletes message after reply
It's probably not being *deleted* (ie. it still exists on the server), but it may be removed/hidden from POP Peeper's message list. Are you using either the "hide read" or "hide seen" option (look under the main "messages" menu)? Replying to a message will mark the mess...

Since your previous message mentioned GoDaddy, I can tell you that it should work (without DavMail). While I don't personally have a GoDaddy account, I have corresponded with several people (including one within the past couple of days) who have successfully used POP Peeper to access their GoDaddy a...

Re: PopPeeper ends for no apparent reason
Are you saying that when PPv5 crashes, it's always during the load process? And, if that's so, that it's always when PP starts with Windows? If that assumption is correct, does PPv5 crash *every* time at Windows startup? If not, can you give a rough estimate of how often (50%, 90%, etc.)? I'd still ...

Re: PopPeeper ends for no apparent reason
The data files for v5 and v4 are pretty much the same. But even before you mentioned that, my first inclination in crashes is that it can be a data corruption error, so what I would recommend is that you delete the databases. There are various ways to do this, but the best proven method is: 1) In PO...

Re: None of my Outlook accounts are working.
Glad you found the solution. I'm not sure why updating the SSL plugin would have caused that. I have a couple outlook accounts myself and I haven't heard anyone else report a similar problem. That being said, I tested and confirmed that Outlook with StartTls doesn't work. That despite the server exp...

Re: question about folders
Can you provide more information? Specifically, what are the location (full path) of the folders that you're trying to delete? POP Peeper doesn't save deleted messages by default, but it's an option on the "Storage" options page. But these are just simple .eml files that Windows should hav...
